I didn’t expect you painting over the fittings. A bit out of character. Why not remove the latch plate first?

A friend recently installed these. Neither of us like the hollow feel underfoot. You expect it on a wood deck. But when you walk on these the hollow feel is very unsatisfying. Also she has had issues with leaf debris accumulating under them and rodents living under them. If she were to do it again she'd have them fully bedded in mortar. But they seem to be plenty strong. So I'm sure they'll work for some people.

Hope you get to meet the 3 yr old … lol BTW, I would have installed the door the other way with the sun at the top and rays going down. Maybe the 3 yr old also installed the door upside down? Or am I the 3 yr old?

Maybe a brush or rubber scraper on the rotor arms, and perhaps a lower speed on the rotor

Why did you set your gate post in with Postcrete? It is a very common mistake because it is quick and easy. But you are setting a lump of wood to sit in a concrete bucket that will always be wet between the post which will shrink and the concrete. It is far better to ram around the post with broken brick , and you have plenty of that, or broken tile. Ramming it around the post a bit at a time supports the post very securely and moisture can drain away from the wood. The post may be pressure treated but that breaks down when subjected to constant moisture. Using up old rubble around fence posts is also cheaper than using bags of cement mix. It is a great video!

Nice job matey but I think the plaster work stands out more than the timber work.
