Are we forgetting the fact many Aperture scientists were frozen as seen in the co-op missions?

I feel its unfair to compare the two. Because we have a chance to see Black Mesa before its big disaster, whereas we only see Aperture after its equivalent Resonance Cascade incident.

Talking strictly before the Resonance Cascade and before GLaDOS, Black Mesa is a much more realistic and standard company. They take safety a lot more seriously comparatively, even if ultimately they still aren't perfect. They're much more the types to say "Safety First" before doing anything, and only didn't in the case of the Resonance Cascade as a result of corruption within the company pushing for the event to happen and assuring those working under them that nothing would go wrong despite raised concerns, and ultimately those who would otherwise have been also raising concerns generally fearing for their employment if they made too much of a fuss. Before this event, things would have been much more normal and therefore much more safe. Aperture is the anti-Black Mesa. Under Cave Johnson's leadership the company's view of safety was increasingly messed up as time went on, to the point where eventually safety precautions were all but discarded completely. Cave grew increasingly unhinged and increasingly broke as time went on, and as his tests got more dangerous and his funding got more cut, he went from testing on War Heroes and Olympians to testing on random volunteers and homeless people who he bribed to undergo his dangerous testing processes via offers such as removing tumors which they probably didn't have before entering the building. Cave actively went to war against safety, even going so far as to go on unhinged rants about how stupid he thinks safe science supporters are. The one saving grace Aperture has in the name of safety is that it might be the single company in the entire history of their version of Earth to produce and make use of the most guardrails.

Weirdly enough, there's actually no TF2 sounds used in that scene. However, I did use some TF2 sounds in some of the skits for the arm movements.

aperture testes for the sake of testing, thinking about what they could and could not do (not giving a care about the law), which is why they went bankrupt before caves death black mesa tested, got results, and used that to further the company but i do give aperture a single point for being to keep out the combine (or go completely unnoticed)

You're right... Mostly. If you compare the disasters, yes, Black Mesa's is less deadly by a slim margin. However, if you compare both facilities pre-disaster, it's not even a contest. Black Mesa beats Aperture into the ground for the better workplace. Black Mesa prioritized safety and procedure in almost every experiment they conducted. The failed experiment only happened because Dr. Breen ordered the conditions to be unsafe. Prior to this, Black Mesa was comfortable, safe, and productive. Aperture on the other hand was a considerably worse work environment. You were expected to both work and volunteer for testing, under the reasoning that the robots they were replacing you with were better than you in every way. This would have a massive psychological impact on the employees, likely bringing morale and attention to detail to an all time low (potentially contributing to the absurd number of failed tests.) You were constantly reminded that there was someone or something better than you, and you were also constantly given the feeling that you were doing something you shouldn't be doing because you were told to avoid law enforcement and OSHA inspectors. Aperture was also a lot more protective of its research, to the point of making surface access very difficult to reach. Overall the environment was significantly worse than Black Mesa.

how to survive black mesa incident easy? go on an extended vacation off site
@Jalbesbe
@Jalbesbe Ай бұрын
One thing that isn't talked about nearly at all. Aperture Science is literally constantly rebuilt on top of itself. The fact the original place is just at the very bottom, and they just kept building the new facility over the old one. The structural integrity has to be in massive concern. Also by the presumed numbers, you are less likely to survive the Black Mesa event vs Aperture. There were far far more people working at Black Mesa, and only a handful got out. On top of the mortality rate of the military coming into the place. The mortality rate of Black Mesa is far higher just by population alone. Aperture had as known one scientist survive, if we exclude all of the test subjects that are still "alive" after the portal 2 Co-op. You still have an overall lower mortality inside Aperture overall. Also we don't know how many of Aperture's staff was at the facility at the time of the event. Since Black Mesa had their staff living on site it meant you were in the thick of it no matter what. Aperture workers could have been home sick, on vacation, or it was their day off that day. But that is just speculation and doesn't have a full bases.

If i do remember, at aperture later on they just put everything in the air. So food requirements were gone and even sleep wasnt needed as evident by chell & explained to her by glados. So maybe beans, coffee & water with cake maybe just to satisfy the taste buds (or clean them with water) All aperture devices can also sustain very high heat in 1000's. And the gun just explodes like turrets if it gets completely damaged, brine & crushed being few of them.

I'm gonna guess BM is safer, seeing as how the CEO of Aperture basically killed himself with the experiments he ran and the fact that BM doesn't have Glados.
