Over rated for Overlanding? Maybe. Useless? No. Rocklights are nice to have in camp when it's dark. Rocklights have a soft glow to help folks locate their rig and not trip over things without ruining night vision. That's the main reason I'm considering rocklights for my Rubicon.

True. The soft glow acts like a beacon at basecamp. The low wattage will also not kill your battery.....not right away at least. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been wanting to try it but I don’t love cliff edges. The road seems not too bad this year based on what you showed. I’m aiming for trying it in Jan ‘25. Have you ever gone on Shafer Rd in Moab? I’m wondering if it’s similar.

I haven't done Shafer Rd in Moab. I've done Lippincott a couple of times. Just take it slow. It doesn't really take that long. Always refer to nps.gov for road conditions. This video is actually few years old. www.nps.gov/deva/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

Although this is a beautiful truck because I owned one within two weeks I got and had to let it go. The car almost got me in my family killed. There is a 10% dead spot in the steering and if you’re out on the highway going between 70 and 80 and the wind hit you, you will fly right off the road. This car is a death trap for the highway but on regular dirt roads, it’s OK that’s what they built it for but not the highway so good luck over landing without getting on the highway. If you don’t believe me go test drive it. It’s got a 10% dead spot and they’re not willing to fix it or change the steering cause the steering from a dump truck and it’s hydraulic and it’s a nightmare

Yeah what’s up with that. That is a huge jump in price. Toyota is pricing themselves out of sales. And no SR5 premium way to many models as well. They are just becoming a very greedy company

I think Toyota should’ve started charging less for these trucks while they figure out their issues and eventually be as reliable as the prior gens. They’re literally overcharging just because of their reputation. They’ll have to earn it again.

The payment estimator is separate under "shopping tools". They should've put in on the build page! Yeah, I also noticed "leather seats" has been reserved for higher trims and Lexus models.

Correct. Dealerships get what they get and you can only hope to get a close match. If you made a deposit, make sure your sales rep keeps you well informed.

Out of all the new Toyota 4x4s, it's probably the best bang for the buck.
