My husband was one of the 'unfortunate ' ones. He never could grasp the simplicity of AA and turning your life over to a HP. HES been gone 5 months now...

I hope to celebrate nine months sober on December 1. It'll be the first time in my adult life I've been sober for longer than a weekend. I just came from SoberFest in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where I had a great time despite making a total ass of myself during the closing speaker's talk. 100% of this rings true. I was a miserable, chickenshit, chronic discontent too, despite having a lot going for me. I was an alcoholic in a lot of pain, and that's completely okay! I had a lot of fun being a drunk! But now I'm sober, and I can enjoy listening to this old degenerate on a nice sunny day. Keep coming back to this video and the people who are delighted to help you. It gets so much easier.
