North Carolina Public schools are horrid. I know from experience. Hickory city and Catawba county schools are a joke. Racism and homophobia. I would never swim in lake hickory it’s so gross. Downtown is not quite the same anymore. Best thing I did for myself was to leave hickory. I was born at Frye regional! My grandmother is Julia Rush so I know hickory. She came up with the “life well crafted” for the city. My grandfather Beeker Harrell began hickory’s Oktoberfest which had turned into a redneck hell. The art has died and hickory is supposed to be know for art. For crafts. This use of craftsmanship is funny.

Hickory is far from "The greatest city" City government is corrupt as hell along with all the other governmental agencies involved in that area. If you don't have money, don't even bother looking to move here because you cannot afford the taxes.

Thank you to the Hickory regional airport for all of your efforts and allowing so many Civilian helicopters and aircraft supplies too hard to hit western North Carolina by hurricane Helene. Please allow us to continue the good work of evacuating people out of western North Carolina to safety. Really a great video. However, one aspect is missing; The local music scene! On any given weekend night, one can see over 40 different musical acts. I know people who have moved here JUST for the music scene.

We are already overwhelmed with growth over the past few years. Bloomberg and others are trying to fundamentally change the nature of our community. We have already had some anti-police lies in Nextdoor. We have a great police force that almost all long term residents support.
