That Mexico ride used to be a promotional ride, like a tourism promo. That's why the setting has Mexican landscapes, but they just added cartoon characters. EPCOT used to be an educational place, with lots of long and educational attractions, similar to Spaceship Earth. It was basically like a world's fair that was always open, instead of being temporary. If you like Spaceship Earth (the big ball) then you might have liked the old Epcot. The new Epcot, is... different. Thanks for giving your impressions, though.

i hadnt been since they redid the opening area of the park. They massakred mah boi! Getting rid of the awesome dancing fountain was a big misstep. And it wouldn't be so bad if all the surrounding food and shopping areas didn't all look the same, with the signage/font and style. I kinda got lost in trying to remember my bearings from what it used to look like. The new food court is nice, and can hold more people it seems, and the banquet hall looks like it can easily be transformed to fit any theme of any event (which is clearly what they wanted it for), but i wish everything was easily distinguishable

hey i am currently doing some planning for a disney world trip i found that 3 of the rides have virtual queue. tiana's bayou, tron, & guardians of the galaxy. my question is do those rides just not have a normal standby line at all??

Everything is so dated at WDW but then when they try and refresh and redo parts of the parks, the warriors come out with fire and ash and then it leaves people wondering why everything is so dated. Disneyland on the other hand somehow manages to be an active, living museum but still be full of everchanging and classic attractions alike, some of which have had their fair share of refreshes and reskins. Idk wth is wrong with WDW

That ride is inspired by the movie The Three Caballeros from 1944. It's actually quite charming, and I watched it a multitude of times when I was a kid. The music is actually quite good. If you've seen the movie, then the ride isn't strange at all. The ORIGINAL version of the ride was El Rio del Tiempo, and didn't include any of the Disney characters at all. THAT was actually a very weird ride, considering it was similar...but completely without the Disney themeing. All of that said, they recently finished a ton of changes to EPCOT, and its pretty garbage now. I went as a kid in the 80s multiple times, and it was so much more interesting then. The entire place had tons of interactive displays in the different pavilions dedicated to teaching kids about the different things they displayed. It wasn't really much of a "ride" thing back then. Remember, EPCOT stands for "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow", and was intended to be a showcase of ideas and not a traditional themepark. Now it's just garbage Disney brand advertising.

We have land, We should use it - put this cars mini-land at Hollywood Studios.

Epcot was once my favorite park, but it is now fundamentally broken, suffering from an identity crisis. It's first iteration allowed visitors interact with up to date technologies and advancements while being educated and entertained. The current park entertains first, educates second and in some cases no education at all. The people in charge have allowed the education aspects of the park to lapse or die off, and have replaced it with heavy entertainment via Disney's roster of intellectual properties, ergo a roller coaster (Guardians) in a park meant to better mankind. It's a dumbing down. If you had the chance to experience the park 30 years ago, you would have had a much different opinion. It was like spending the day with Tony Stark in his labs at Stark Industries, seeing, interacting and experiencing the technological possibilities of tomorrow. Now, not so much if at all. Also, the Mexico ride was once heavily themed about the culture of Mexico (as were all the countries). That idea was replaced with The Three Caballeros, who come from a 1945 Disney animated film where the three characters you see in the ride are traveling around South America. So my point, the ride (as much of the park) went from educational entertainment to a mind numbing overuse of intellectual property/entertainment.
