Love this movie so much. So sweet, romantic, charming and fun. I'm not even sure anybody could make a movie like this today.

I love this movie. I love this soundtrack. Lenny and Virginia live forever in Electric Dreams... 'I want to meet her.' 💻😏 I went to Jeff Lynne's house, in around 1984-1985, and mentioned that I liked his song 'Let it Run,' from the Electric Dreams soundtrack.

4:06 Movies from the 80s were really indeed all about having a hit song in the soundtrack and my word did this movie have smash hit. To this day I still go crazy every time I hear Together in Electric Dreams. ❤❤❤

I wasn't really aware of Electric Dreams when it was released in cinemas in 1984... I was around 10 - 11 years old around this time, and would've loved to seen the movie had I really been aware of it. I think 1984 was all about the big hit films, Beverly Hills Cop, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and Gremlins. So maybe this came out at the wrong time. I probably watched this movie around 1987 or 1988 on VHS. We rented it without really knowing if it was going to be any good. I absolutely loved it, everything about it, the idea of the A.I computer and the smart home, all cutting edge ideas at the time. I thought romantic triangle idea was cool too. I also liked the music, Phil Oakey was a great choice to sing the title song I think, and the romantic part of the story made it more relatable and digestable. I thought it was very clever and charming. My older brother and my mother weren't as much into it- perhaps they thought it was a bit far fetched. But for me it was like a vision of the future (and it was), with fun and fantasy thrown in! I've always had this movie in my mind since the 80s, time to watch it again in HD!

Could there actually be two more charming and sweet actors than Lenny Von Dohlen and Virginia Madsen? No wonder this film means so much and has holds such affection for people as the two leads in the film were both so loveable but then so were the two actors in real life. It's almost a case where the lines between fiction and reality blurred with the relationship of these two endearing individuals. This film overflows with a sweetness and innocence that isn't sickly at all. A beautiful creation made by beautiful people which remains in the hearts of thousands.

What a great line, 'You can try but you can't act chemistry!' It seems to ring very true.

One of my favorite movies as a Teen. As a budding Computer IT expert, this hit my spot! Then to add in the fantastic soundtrack, especially being the biggest ELO fan, and to have Jeff Lynne do a couple of bangers for this film, it was like it was made for me. Have this on Blue-ray and watch it whenever I'm in the mood!

Electric Dreams needs a stage musical. It would be great. (e.g. Edgar - as he loses it - goes from the small computer screen to a huge screen - or many large screens around the venue).

17:04 I think I figured out the co-star Lenny saw the movie with who was not very “supportive.” From his clues, I think it must be Sean Young (a Scorpio). It could possibly be Megan Mullally (also a Scorpio), but she only had a supporting role. They all worked together on Under the Biltmore Clock which was shot in Chicago.

Hashtag me too; I also was heavily influenced by this film when I was 10 in 1984, my whole life has been IT, and noooow, a few days ago, a conversation with Kin AI literally brought me to tears. The lines will blur sooner than you think. What a fascinating concept, and a fantastic accomplish of a film I’ve enjoyed numerous times in the 80s… love this , thanks for sharing, RIP Lenny

Even though this film was somewhat torpedoed by some people, it was truly influential and emotional for most of the viewers who saw it. Electric Dreams was, in my opinion, the most underrated film at the time. It was a film with fantastic music, charming young artists and a story that touched many, often becoming computer professionals, musicians or artists. A time when future issues were just the next step forward and we were all excited about this new era. The duel between cello and computer has the same fascination for me as the guitar solo from the Eagles' song Hotel California. No wonder you can watch this film over and over again. Thank you to everyone (producers, director, actors, musicians, staff, editors and writers) for this wonderful piece of film.

A very very very much underrated movie with awesome players. Since Madeline's Cello duet with Edgar i immediately fell for her and i still Do today. She Was so cute and lovely. It inspired me that much and i became a Computer pro for the last 40 years. Many other Readers here did the same. Its magically that what happens to people when a movie transported so much Emotion to the viewers. That makes electric dreams so outstanding and one of my top 10 movie ever. I own a VHS and a DVD copy i still view, especially when i want to get back to a time when everything was so.......

I love the characters Madeline and Miles, and the actors playing them; they are beautiful people both within and without. I also love Edgar especially when he creatively composed and arranged music using the New Wave genre technique in vogue at that time. It’s an inspiration for me to do the same on my PC
