My father flew for TWA from the end of WWII until 1976. The Connie's were his favorite! The Super G was the ultimate when all the Hollywood stars road TWA, thus the nickname "airline of the stars"!

I saw a familiar plane from the Flying Fortress type and it also had a cold start, it had 4 blades on each rotor and sounded so good. I love big old planes, B52 Flying Fortress and the Lockheed super constellation!

Such a gorgeous aeroplane. Pity those Wright-Cyclones shove out so much muck on start up. Does anybody know if this Super Connie is airworthy ?

Merveilleux avion élégant et racé , lorsque j'etais gosse j'allait les regarder car j'habitait près de l'aeroport de Dakar Yoff où mes parents travaillaient, mon père à l'epoque était aiguilleur du ciel et ma mère hôtesse d'accueuil à Air-France. La mise en route des moteurs etait une vraie symphonie, ils étaient reconnaissables entre tous, il y en plus beaucoup en l'air et c'est dommage car ils avaient une ligne superbe , ils etaient haut sur pattes. Il y en a eut un à Bâle-Mulhouse mais il est partit.

This is the airplane of my youth as they were everywhere in the sky and so easy to spot, and then there was the sound. I was as the downtown airport when this plane was flown in from AZ. for it's restoration process to start. The museum was great, but alas poor leadership has shut them down and who knows what will happen to the Connie.

One beautiful flying machine she was back In the days of yesteryear (40s&50s” more of this type, the Super Connie G should be brought back to FLYING Status! Am EX Flightcrew lifetime member. A/C mech on the BAHF C54D (Skymaster & their latest BIG PROP & VERY RARE 377 / C97G Huge STRATOCRUISER of yesteryear & is a Flying Museum Excibit of Cold War History & Rememberance Soon to be back in the blue Skies once AGAIN! Seeing those 4 huge. 4360s P&W Radial Engines on the wings is Quite something to look at!!

When my father was transferred to the Canal Zone, the first leg of the trip -- and my first flight ever as a boy of about 8 -- was aboard a MATS C-121 Constellation. I thought that I had fallen in love with flying until we then transferred to a Braniff 707. Then I realized that I had fallen in love with the Connie! Best flight ever!

I was an 11 yo passenger on one in 1960 between Belem, Brazil, and Miami. Unforgettable and unforgotten! After the Concord, this is still the most beautiful passenger airliner ever.
