Hi Adrian, I'm older than you but not as competent a player as you. I grew up with the love of this style of organ playing learning the Harry Stoneham books on the way. I love the Tyros on top for additional sounds. Sadly, arrangers still don't have decent Hammond organ sounds in them and as a result I got a Viscount Legend Live organ (75% of a Hammond) which I use with a Korg PA5X. Keep up with the videos, they are brilliant.

How did you control the Leslie cabinet? I don't recall a speed switch on the X66. I just bought one with its D12 cabinet, but I was looking to add a Leslie and being able to use it as well as the D12.

@@douglasrizzo9210 it had already been adapted to take an 11 pin Leslie. The speed switches were on the slip between the keys. One for stop and the other fast/slow.

I had the same set up on the road many years ago.One problem I had with it.... by the pedal there was a small bulb. That's how you could adjust the volume and if the bulb blew, you could only adjust it with the master volume knob on the right and the pedal didn't do anything, quite awkward sometimes.

I sang as a chorister accompanied by Stanley at the Ritz cinema, singing Christmas carols over the Christmas holiday period - probably around 1956.

I don’t care much for the instrumental sounds but the true organ sounds are rather impressive.

@@caspercat0 I already had one last week I found another one I got it I love it too much I'm already cleaning the valves ok just a little problem on the F# key which sounds less I hope to solve it the pedal board has the problem I think it's the neon lights and the capacitors that need to be changed... the sound of the keyboards sounds very loud the cabinet is also very nice I'm very happy I never thought in my life I would own 2 DSO1s Hard to find in Italy, hello Adrian

@@valeriocecchi8492 I had three DS01 at one time. The first two were hardly working. One went to Germany to a Beatles fan. The other I gave to my friend Dave here and he completely rebuilt it. Mine is in good condition but occasionally does the pedal burble. Send me an email. [email protected]

I used one of these for a long time back in the day ...! I already had a 147 Leslie .... which the tech back then was able to hook up by adding a small transformer and a junction connection into the Leslie amp. We did have a problem with a loud pop when using the fast and slow built in switch on the organ .... After multiple attempts at adding different components .... We gave up and just ran a regular fast/slow tremolo add on toggle switch separately directly to the Leslie .... It Worked and I preferred the toggle switch anyway ! The 147 really gave the X5 a warm sound .... much better than the 800 series .... It was still a lot to drag around, my back is destroyed , but it was still lighter than a B3 ....lol....😂

I have an A100 love it, internally they're the same as a b3, but they dont have near the sex apeal of a b3 with those pretty legs thats what you're paying with a b3, you can't compare sally down the street to a super model, although they both are women (well) you get the point,!😅

I thought Wright had a full Wurlitzer Pipe Organ in his home - at least in the last years. OK, reading the other posts I’m now educated. To my ears I still think electronic instruments (at least in George’s time) sounded good but just didn’t have the presence, heft of sound and bite of a real pipe instrument. (I demonstrated Gulbransen organs for a summer in 1958-59ish and felt they were the best then. To me the Hammond was always a superb instrument - not to be compared to a pipe organ though.)
