That’s Nothing To Do With Being Mean Or Anything, If You Look It Up On Google, Feral Pigeons Are Basically Just Domesticated Pigeons That Have Returned To The Wild, Either Through Escapes ETC, And Can Be Found In Every City Throughout The UK And The World, The Domestic Pigeon Was Originally Bred From The Wild Rock Dove, Which Naturally Inhabits Sea Cliffs And Mountains, Rock, Domestic And Feral Pigeons Are All The Same Species And Will Readily Interbreed

If you find a caterpillar in the autumn it’s best to leave it alone. But you can raise your caterpillars in spring until they turn into butterflies or moths

Saved a female one of these the other day from cats/dog, after it flew in to our window and was dazed. Wrapped up warm while it opened its eyes, then fed water, sugar, fats from a syringe. Flew off after half hour straight to foraging insects on our beech hedge. Lovely bird. Smallest on the uk!

On Sunday, we had a Sparrowhawk grab a Blackbird 12 feet away from our back window. I went out, and it took off with the Blackbird in its talons. I followed it to the bottom of the garden, and it released th Blackbird still alive. 1 hour later, 2 Herons flew over the house. 30 minutes after that, the Sparrowhawk came back chasing another Blackbird, whilst flying 2 feet away from a squirrel that was on the bird table. Best Sunday ever.

Sparrowhawks can take jays as well, And also other smaller corvids such as magpies and jackdaws

@Microbat-wm6bb the magpies went crazy.

Corvids like these can see these birds as definite threats. So they mob a Sparrowhawk or other bird of prey to drive it away. Even more powerful birds of prey like the peregrine falcon. Corvids is also a name for members of the crow family. Which includes magpies and jays. Rooks, Crows ETC
@Microbat-wm6bbАй бұрын
@@stephenphillips7699 I’ve mentioned the peregrine as well. They are much bigger than Sparrowhawks. They are the same size as a crow and are also the world’s fastest bird and also animal. These birds may not come into your garden. But they are increasingly common in towns and cities. Nesting on cathedrals and what have you. And they also hunt their prey in mid flight and not pinning their prey to the ground like Sparrowhawks, just catching it in the air. Or dive down at their prey at over 200mph And then strike their prey with clenched talons to knock the bird unconscious or kill it on impact and then catch it mid air as it’s falling. Their diet like the Sparrowhawk is almost exclusively birds. Peregrines prey on pigeons and starlings. Small to large species of ducks. And other small to medium sized birds they can catch. They sometimes catch and eat bats too. Sometimes As Well, When driving a larger bird away from it’s territory combined with stooping onto them and punching them. Has even allegedly made them able to even kill buzzards and golden eagles

@Microbat-wm6bb I'm guessing it won't be the last time we see it. Now it knows where to hunt. We've had it purched on the fence and the wood pigeons sitting just across from it.

Those are house martins that are a type of bird in the swallow family. A marten is a predatory mammal in the weasel family
