Update! Tesla called and said that the part needing replaced was just outside the warranty but they were going to do the work for free. So while the pain of getting it towed and being without the car for a bit is still a hassle, the repair is now $0.

It is good community relations, definitely, to include language like that and this is an excellent case study in PR done well. But a really easy way to tell whether it actually has created any new interest is how much the discount gets used. (and even if that number is zero, it was still a really smart spin)

You should have seen how dumpy this house was when we bought it. We dumped a bunch of money into it to improve it and the neighborhood along with it. Everyone's property values go up as the homes on the street are updated. We have also had zero complaints from our neighbors so far.

Where I live getting two houses on one property is not common. A garage is common and a shed is likely, but I have not seen 2 houses on one lot. To say this is common enough for most people to take advantage of is misleading. Edit: not to discourage your content. I like trying to think outside the box.

Thanks for your reply! To clarify, I’m not arguing that this is common. But they do exist. The key is to think, as you say, outside the box. That said, many cities are loosening restrictions to allow the additional dwellings (ADUs) on a single lot. Check with your city planning department to know for sure!!
