Well, I didn't camp that much. I found it quite irritating that everything was always wet in the morning due to dew when packing. That, combined with all the work of setting up and breaking down the tent, made me use hotels much more often. The campsites I did use were totally fine (a washing facility is also handy). Nothing to complain about, except that you need to take the motorcycle if you don't want to cook yourself. I haven't seen a restaurant of snackbar on campsites...

Het grootste deel is prima te doen, maar af en toe zat er een spannend stukje tussen. Blijft een zware machine de 1300 en we hadden beide niet zo veel offroad ervaringen (mijn val heeft wel wat krassen opgeleverd). Met regen wordt het een ander verhaal denk ik (zie video van ACT zelf). De stukken die ACT trouwens als ‘moeilijker’ aangaf (o.a. smugglers route) waren overigens makkelijk. Heb je dus niet zo veel aan. Ik vond het een fantastische trip, dus gewoon gaan en de tijd nemen voor de wat moeilijker stukken, die duren nooit lang nl.

Voor gravel heb je niet zo heel veel profiel nodig. Ik had er Dunlop Mission Trailmax op zitten (70/30 band) en die doet het op zowel (nat) asflalt als gravel erg goed. Ga er nu Dunlop Mission Raid onder zetten (50/50), maar daar kan ik pas eind juni een oordeel over vellen (Pyreneeën). Zou wel een 70/30 of 50/50 band aanraden die goed met regen omgaat, want dat kan je wel verwachten in Noorwegen....

My traveltime was fixed and in european wintertime, that's why I had to go to the other side of the equator to get some nice weather. One advice I got from a local is to not travel during the NZ summerbreak (it's a long one around Christmas), because everything is than fully packed. From and until what month it's good weather to ride I don't now. A kiwi can maybe answer this one ;-)

As a New Zealander (Kiwi) I agree go during spring / summer here which is autumn / winter in the northern hemisphere, NZ is beautiful in winter but it get too cold to do a motorcycle trip then, and as the video creator said, don't come during the summer holidays (late November to February) as a lot of the roads are busy then.

We went in June. Oktober can be very wet and the temperature will be around 10 degrees Celsius. With the right clothing its fine, but you need some luck with the rain or flexible on your riding days… (did Switseland last October and had 2 heavy rain days and 5 good days)

This was first week of October. Temperatures were high for this time a year. Up to 20 degrees Celsius, but up in the mountains down to 5 degrees. Norway was much colder in june ;-)

I have a trip in September for 1-1.5 weeks. Land in Oslo. Not sure where (city/location)I get my rental motorcycle yet. Fingers crossed I can rent a motorcycle and have a lot of scenic rides.
