So sorry for your loss, I've been down that road lots of times before, and the hurt and loss are still the same. But your gave Benny lots of love and he knew he was loved when he passed. He could have died an unwanted stray, in a stranger's backyard in the cold rain, but he didn't. You gave him the best life possible. There is a poem called "The Rainbow Bridge" that tells how you and your pet will be reunited in Heaven someday. It's on Google. I hope you're doing better. *hugs from NC* 💝💖💞🐾💐

My Aster is 16 1/2 years old and he died his way my husband took the one and only picture that's locked in a file on his other phone he had a smile on his face I couldn't do it and he was still good until the end

Hi. I’m so sorry about your baby. I just lost my bichon maltese to DKA as well. May I ask how long your dog had diabetes before you chose to put him down?

@@ashleyh.4390 I did not know he had diabetes before, he was totally fine but he walked slower I thought it was because he was older 14.5 year old . Until one day he stopped eating and throw up food so I went to the ERvet they told me he had DKA needed to be hospitalized for a couple of days, the 2 vets from two different hospitals suggested me to let him go he was hospitalized for a half day and they also suspected he probably had other complications due to his blood work and old age. the vet told me he might suffer more painful death. It was the hardest few days of my life and hardest decision I had ever made. After talking to my family for ours I had to painfully decide to let him go.. even now typing this my tears is coming down .. I am so sorry for your loss but whatever you decided it was the best for your pup!!

You’re welcome. 18 is a good age! I thought mine would be able to celebrate his 15 years birthday! Sometimes I am still wondering if I made a right decision!! What if I just let him live maybe he could live 2 more years?? But again two ER vet’s suggested me to let him go because his illness and could make his life more painful 😢 I know it’s hard decision. Esp harder for us human to not have them around every day! Stay strong!!

💙 I know how much this hurts, my wife and I just went through this last week 01-02-25. Our baby boy "Little Man" was just 4 months shy of 13 years old. He had an enlarged heart, and his little hips were going. I'm sending you love for your loss of little Benny.

I had a dog just like this one her name was Miley & I got to hold her on my arms as she took her last breath & I'm Thankful God gave me that moment with her she was my best friend & it still hurts to have lost her but she is In Heaven with no more suffering & just Joy I Hope her & Benny meet up there & become pals & be in Joyful Bliss with Jesus sorry for your loss I hope this helps & comforts you GOD BLESS 🙌🏼 YOU

My precious baby Chip had to be put down a few weeks ago. He’s 15. I held his paw and whispered to him want a loyal and loved friend he was. I kissed his cheek until the attendant said he is gone. I got in my car with an empty feeling. Love and miss you Chip. RIP. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

So so sorry about your loss. My baby actually had ulcers in both eyes late last year, and ended up having to have one removed. GenTeal was an excellent treatment, you did great

@@celestialtay sorry to hear that! End up my dog had diabetes probably part of reasons why his eye couldn’t heal well. And he died of DKA earlier this year 😓

We lost beautiful little Wrigley on Oct 26, 2024. He had kidney disease but was doing well for a few years until he started to slowly go downhill. We started noticing changes from July 2024. It got worse from there - refusing food, falling down, sleeping a ton, spaciness, etc. I miss him terribly. I used to say to him "Remember Wrigley, no matter what happens to either of us, I will always Love You." He was the first dog I ever felt this way about. I hope he understood in his own way how much I loved him and will miss him. If we could have done more to help him I would have, but we tried everything. It was just the end of his life span and his body stopped working. He was 14.5 years old.

Sorry for your lost, yeah he had a great, long life with you, I'm sure he knew you loved him and he will still appreciate you afterlife. One day all the animals and human will die, just matter of time, but even so, they left a big mark in our heart..I still miss mine every day, hope he was here with me on the Christmas day so I can take bunch of cute pics of him like I did last Christmas. Mine also had liver disease, but then it got bad so quickly, he loved to eat so he got diabetes and then went into the DKA within a few weeks. It was a shock to me, but we will face this eventually when we have a pet.

I was with my twenty year old cat. I had no choice she had a huge tumor in her lung. I almost didn’t survive her death. My second cat, Fancy, got suddenly sick and died in her sleep while the vet had her trying to save her. So I have never had to actually figure out when to put one down. That will be the worst decision of my life

I was with both of my dogs on their journey....I hugged and kissed them so much....I had them both on my arms when they closed their eyes for the last time. ...I felt the person on the vid was not really there for her baby..... but more standing behind so the dog could see her. I booked into both of my dogs eyes and told them how much I love them... being there is so important. My friend had to leave her dog on the table as she couldn't cope... luckily I was there... imagine..... you're last seconds in this world and those who you love so much aren't there with you. .... breaks my heart

I held my dog for as long as I could, but I felt that having him lie down on this comfy blanket while I petted him was good. He knew I was always there and I provided unconditional love to him.. I also whispered something in his ear, hoping he would understand one day on the other side. It was the most heart-breaking moment and awful days of my entire life. I miss him every day and wish he could be with me forever. I still cry when I think of him. He was my first dog, and now I’ve experienced such a heart-breaking feeling. But I guess it's good, especially nowadays, when there is so much hate and war, and psychopaths control the world. Somewhere, there are people who can even cry for their pets. Not everyone does that, especially now that I see so many horrible things humans do to their pets and other lives.
