Great video but in reality the product is poorly manufactured and not as easy to fit as shown. I have had 2 racks now which are manufactured out of true and no response from Wunderlich at all. Not what i expected !!!

BS - ADDING THE BACK REST BRACKET AND LUGGAGE RACK IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT SCRATCHING AND TEARING UP THE BIKE. MY BACKREST IS TWEAKED. FOR ONE PERSON TO MANEUVER BOTH OF THESE ITEMS AND GET SCREWS STARTED IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH TWEAKED CHEAP (EXPENSIVE) PARTS. GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE. FURTHER, THIS GUY TALKS ABOUT GREASE YET I RECEIVED GREASE AND LOCKTIGHT GRADE A (BLUE). SO I USED LOCKTIGHT AS THE SCREWS REMOVED HAD EVIDENCE OF LOCKTIGHT ON THE OLD HARDWARE. SO THERE IS THAT. IT IS 100F WITH 100% HUMIDITY AND AFTER 3 HOURS OF WRESTLING WITH THIS PILE OF CRAP I GAVE UP. I WILL TRY AND TWEAK THE BACKREST WITH A CLAMP TOMORROW AND TRY AGAIN. BUT THIS GUY SUGGESTS ONE CAN TAKE IT OFF. NEVER IN MY LIFE WOULD I GO THROUGH THIS CRAP AGAIN. FIGURES I ALWAYS GET THE SHIT PARTS. CHEAP CHINESE SHIT.

Thank you ! This adapter is ok, a little too thick (I would happily take a version that is forgoing the additional USB ports and is much slimmer!) and super-pricey. USD 183 plus S&H in the US comes to over USD 200 for the adapter delivered to you. In Germany it is USD 116 plus S&H (no VAT for exports). I tried to order it there (I am a German native) and have it shipped to the US like I do from many other EU manufacturers/retailers for items for my bike (MRA, SE Engineerd, Dominator, Voigt Mototechnik, helmets etc from FC-Moto, etc. etc. etc.). Even with shipping it is usually more economic to buy in the EU because we do not pay the substantial VAT. Just takes longer to get the items. I was able to establish an account on their German web site, but they would not allow an order. I e-mailed them and they refereed to their US web site. I mentioned the huge and really unwarranted price difference and they said sorry. Wunderlich is already on the extreme expensive side for equipment, but they really rake US customer over the coals! I wrote a balanced and fact-based review on this item on their web site. Let's see if they publish it.

I really like this product, thanks for putting together these installation instructions. A couple of comments that I hope will be helpful. First, it was difficult to see what was happening with the black gloves against the background of the black side pieces, perhaps wearing a lighter color glove would be helpful. Also, after the install I was expecting to see a pan out shot to see the newly installed frame covers w/ bags on either side, but the video ended - let's see how they look after they are installed - perhaps someone could even sit on the bike so you can see how they integrate with the rider. Cheers.

Hi Eddie, we spoke a few days ago. Install went well on a 2022 K1600 GA. Took your advice starting at 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, then finishing at 6.5mm. Used the loctite and silicone sealant. I used a mm ruler. Probably better to use a digital caliper (saw that on an older Wunderlich install video). Thanks again.

I would love to know the details of how you get the spring in position. I have done this job once, and I struggled quite a lot with the spring. I'm about to do the job for a second time, and I'm sure it will go more smoothly but it's still challenging to deal with that spring.

Good video apart from when you have to stretch the rack onto the bike it’s impossible. I now have to take it to my local bike garage for him to fit it for me. The video shows that you need to stretch the rack to fit but he must have used some machine to stretch it, as I’m no weakling but was totally unable to do it.

It's hard to watch any hands on demonstration that features tattoos. I Don't buy products from companies that use tattoos in their marketing.
