Awesome Covan cover!!! At 7 I auditioned for our Opera’s youth chorus with this song, just me and my guitar. I changed the tempo close to how their cover did. It lead to a 4y scholarship for voice. I actually prefer this version to both Covan and The Original Caste❤

Singing with a microphone, but singing really quietly. What is the point of singing so softly? Your breath is louder than your "singing" voices". It makes no sense. It also requires that you take more breaths than you should have to, AND you are taking these big gasps for air through your MOUTH. If you want to fill your lungs with air, the way you do that is with a very quick ihale through your NOSE. You will see it fills up the lungs faster, and if you sing with a full voice instead of these thin voices with little to no support, you will see you can sing longer full voice than you can with this whispy little voices. Full-voice singers who breathe properly when they sing can sing longer between breaths and it gives a more professional and smoother sound. These voices and seeing gasps for air through the mouth makes me uncomfortable. I liked this movie when I saw it new, and at the time we lived in an area that had a lot of Native Americans so I was around them at school and church and I loved them and hated the racism depicted in the movie. It made me very sad, as does the history of the treatment of Japanese Americans being rounded up and sent to camps to live for the duration, and the Trail of Tears, and, obviously slavery and Jim Crow laws. It also makes me sad that A cruise ship with Jewish passengers going to Cuba and the United States were denied entry once they got here -- both Cuba and the US denied them entry even though many already had papers and should have been allowed to immigrate. The reason? Stupid racist, bigoted citizens in Cuba and the US. That ship was forced to cross the Atlantic once more and returm to it's home port. Someting like 1/3 of the people on board died at the hands of the Nazis. America has had some great moments, but don't be delusional about it. I remember knowing my Dad was in the Air Force and there was probably a little boy like me with a Dad in the USSRs Air Force. We both think we are on the right side. I needed to know the answer. Which side is right? A few months passed when I heard that Russia had a disasterous crop from bad weather and they did not have enough food to get their people through the winter, so, at the height of the Cold War, the US sent tons of grain via ship to the USSR so they could feed their people. I knew then I was on the right side, but still understood that the kid like me and Dad like my Dad are part of a family and a nation. But, we were on the moral high groumd when the USSR is the adversary. Years later, as a working adult, I met a young woman from Russia. She is exceptionally intelligent, and I told her that story. She said she knew about seriojus food shortage and the long winter, and that the US sent tons of grain to get them through the winter. She said she learned about it in history class in school when she lived in Moscow, and everyone was really impressed by that story, which is why she remembered it. So, I guess that's why Jesus commanded that we love your enemies and makes no exceptions, as you are supposed to even love your enemies. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, for Evangelicults, they love making exceptions to that Command of the Saviour, and it's not going to be a good.

It’s nice to hear someone sing this song so well other than Coven.
@AngelMGordon8 ай бұрын
The Caste, did it originally and I think the best. Although Coven was from Chicago and Tom Laughlin was from Milwaukee. Maybe that's the link to them being used for Billy Jack movie.
Such an odd key to sing it in. It just sounds so off. Like a record playing at 3/4 speed.

A ballad that became one of the anthems for a generation, with all the power and passion in the lyrics removed. What a shame! Maybe this is "nice enough" for some people, but I do not find this mincing watery, powerless cover of a great song to be anywhere near as moving as the original.
