for dielectric or insulators the band energy gap is >3 ev and more
@StudywithDrDafda
@StudywithDrDafda Ай бұрын
For insulators, the band energy gap is typically greater than 3 eV, with some materials having gaps greater than 5 eV. Dielectrics can have a wide range of band gaps, some of which are greater than 5 eV.

the energy band of semi-conductors is between 0.1 and 3 eV.
@StudywithDrDafda
@StudywithDrDafda Ай бұрын
The general range for the band gap of semiconductors is approximately 0.1 to 3 eV, but there are some variations: Intrinsic semiconductors (pure semiconductors like silicon or germanium) typically have band gaps around 1-1.5 eV (e.g., silicon has a band gap of about 1.1 eV, and germanium has a band gap of about 0.66 eV). Wide-bandgap semiconductors (such as gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC)) have band gaps greater than 2 eV, often in the range of 2-3 eV or more. Narrow-bandgap semiconductors (like indium antimonide (InSb) or gallium arsenide (GaAs)) can have band gaps as small as 0.1 to 0.3 eV.

NOT ALL electrons in the valence band is available in the conduction band
@StudywithDrDafda
@StudywithDrDafda Ай бұрын
Not all electrons in the valence band can transition to the conduction band because only those with sufficient energy to overcome the band gap are available for conduction.

Sir, I have followed your full playlist (all 79 lectures on DIP) and I can say with confidence that this is the best playlist on DIP. No nonsence (such as like, share, subscribe) just pure and to the point teaching. Also very good practical implementation examples. I want to thank you from my heart. May God always bless you. 💯❤

Does padding used here or not?
@StudywithDrDafda
@StudywithDrDafda 3 ай бұрын
Yes, the MATLAB function medfilt2() uses padding when performing median filtering. By default, it pads the input image with zeros around the border. This means that the edges of the image will be treated with a value of zero when calculating the median for the pixels at the border. You can specify different padding options by using additional arguments or by preprocessing the image before applying the median filter.

@@StudywithDrDafda what is padding sir?
@StudywithDrDafda
@StudywithDrDafda 2 ай бұрын
Padding refers to the process of adding extra values around the border of an image (or matrix) to allow certain operations, such as filtering, to be performed at the edges or corners of the image. The added values are used to fill the region outside the original image boundary during operations like convolution, filtering, and other spatial operations, ensuring that every pixel in the image, including those near the edges, can be processed in the same way as those in the center.
