I'm finding it hard to accept this Ibanez as a 1969. I know about Fender starting to build their first off-shore factory as Fender product, then abandoning that country to build a factory elsewhere. The first country became Ibanez. In the mid-seventies I saw Roadstars in bar bands, no Strat copies. On average, Roadstars were better than Strats.

in the '10s I bought a set of the transparent S1 pickups and the solo-switch (which is a bypass switch to the bridge PU, btw), all mint condition for about 20,- € on ebay. Acouple of years later I could resell them and buy a really good guitar from that money. They are also in some Grabber Bass models. Very rare and indeed unique single coils.

Mine looks just like this one, but it does not have a date that I can decode inside the F hole. It only has what appears to be a serial number. It was sold to me as a 1966. I love mine.

Anyone mocking him for not knowing who Johnny Marr is or The Smiths cut him a break. He is so much older than the generation than those who were teenagers like me when The Smiths were around or after. This guy was listening to hippie music in the 60s when he was growing up. By the time The Smiths were around he was pushing middle age so of course he was not listening to The Smiths.

One of the first guitars I ever played on it. Story was Hendricks used it in Chicago at the amphitheater. Anyhow at that young age I recognized how cool the pickups were in it. Years later now I found one and bought it because I wanted those pickups but I've left the guitar complete and it it's fantastic.

I have one. Same color. Bought it used in 1993, I think. Mine has two humbucker pickups. This one has two single coil and one humbucker pickup. No idea why there are two configurations. When you search online you will come across both. Of course, the string locking nut gizmo broke on mime. Had to have a machinist create a new through pin/bar that spans the width of the nut. There is a hole through one end where the cam arm tightens/brings together the five short sleeves which pins the strings in place. This hole and the width of the pin are so close in size, it breaks easily. Really designed to fail. Stupid. And it doesn’t help matters that it’s strung for a lefty. The guitar weighs a lot. As much as my black, lefty 1980’s Les Paul. But I’m not complaining. I love both guitars. I often wonder what will happen to them when I’m gone. The Strat is worth over $1k and the Les Paul, over $2k. Note: make sure you make a video of all your expensive possessions and narrate stating the name, make, value of everything. Keep receipts for everything. For insurance purposes if stolen or destroyed, you will get proper reimbursement : )

i got one HH, with original pickups, but the bridge pickup lacks gainnnn, i will try some pickup with higher output cause i'm not being able to play heavy sounds with it

I've recently got one of these, it's a lovely guitar. It's interesting hearing the hum from the pickups in the video - that's the reason Chet Atkins didn't like them, causing Ray Butts to come up with Filtertrons. Duane Eddy stuck with the Dynasonics all his career - he tended to play in the middle position with both pickups on, and that cancels out the hum anyway!
@SusanEllis-d6nАй бұрын
actually, that type of playing is what that guitar is built for.
