appreciate your effort and the dedication you show in providing valuable knowledge about automation. Here are a few simple suggestions to improve your content. First, please prepare your speech beforehand and read it from the screen. Your English is excellent, but sometimes it becomes a little ambiguous. Moreover, would you kindly edit your content to fix minor mistakes? For example, during your explanation about specifications, you used "20" in your national language. All in all, your endeavor deserves recognition and admiration.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, due to my current workload, I won't be able to record in that way. I also appreciated your mention of part 20; thanks for pointing that out.

Dear Sir, I hope this message finds you well. I am currently a university student pursuing a degree in Control and Automation Engineering. I would like to seek advice from experienced professional engineers, or those who have at least had practical experience in this field, regarding a book titled "Electric Circuits," 10th edition, by James W. Nilsson and Susan Riedel. The contents of the book’s chapters are as follows: 1. Circuit Variables 2. Circuit Elements 3. Simple Resistive Circuits 4. Techniques of Circuit Analysis 5. The Operational Amplifier 6. Inductance, Capacitance, and Mutual Inductance 7. Response of First-Order RL and RC Circuits 8. Natural and Step Responses of RLC Circuits 9. Sinusoidal Steady-State Analysis 10. Sinusoidal Steady-State Power Calculations 11. Balanced Three-Phase Circuits 12. Introduction to the Laplace Transform 13. The Laplace Transform in Circuit Analysis 14. Introduction to Frequency Selective Circuits 15. Active Filter Circuits 16. Fourier Series 17. The Fourier Transform 18. Two-Point Circuits My question is: Do I need to learn all the material from every chapter of this book in order to perform the tasks of a Control and Automation Engineer? Additionally, what steps should I take in my learning journey? I sincerely appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can provide.

I don’t know if you still need it or not but I am a Electrical engineering student and I can tell u that most of the concepts for me the most important is the circuit analysis techniques + RL RC and RLC circuits + the Laplace transform which will be your closest friend in control systems. Since I would like to major in automation engineering too

Is C programming is must required for plc programmer ?
@jacksongantt4913
@jacksongantt4913 5 ай бұрын
Not really. In some cases you’ll use structured text, but most stuff uses ladder logic. A solid understanding of C can help you with structured text and programming logic but it’s definitely not a must have.

i use an arduino mega controllino with arduino nano as grbl controller on a small parts industrial manipulator for inserting 2 small brass made parts inside a plastics injection mould.. Some problems at the beginning of the project as rs 422 interfacing of the 12 bits incremental encoders for position reached check , resolved by spi checked external 32 bit counters , self made fiber optics based reflective photosensors etc...The major lost of time was about the realisation of some pcbs double layer with metallised holes for vias made in workshop too... My factory is so little , we are 3 employees , dwell time due to covid ,lockdown and other factors helps us to have time to think and realise .I dont want to compete with plc users but due of my age my plc s background is stopped at ladder age. Arduino C' s and byte oriented keywords takes me a little time to learn them instead of proprietary or iec standard plc language learning..

PLC is not more reliable than Arduino. I've been using VB6 for input/output interface applications for decades. Originally, pre-usb, I used DB25 printer ports to connect to the outside world. When Arduino came along, this changed everything. Integrating VB6 with Arduino and long range RF devices gives a $2 Nano the power of a PC.!!!! Thousands of these remote Slave devices can send/receive data to/from individual and even multiple PCs. This allow users to control and see every aspect of the work being performed automatically or by user onscreen buttons in real time. Spare Slaves are ridiculously inexpensive and this allows one to change out a failing/failed unit with a spare in mere seconds. THIS alone is reason enough to scrap PLC as most industrial systems require waiting days, sometimes weeks, for a Tech just to show up. As for limitations, I can control 768 relays with one pin of a Nano: www.ezlst.com/WS2811breakoutstorelays.mp4

I’m a control systems engineer and I don’t have a ton of experience, but I can share what worked for me. I took every control systems class that I could find as well as mechatronics and intro to robotics. If you can find a professor doing automation or controls based research, that’s a huge plus! But if not, see if you can apply automation knowledge to school or personal projects, it’ll look amazing on a new grad resume. Also check out online resources like Ignition’s Inductive Academy to learn about PLC coding. Basically any experience you can find with PLCs might get you a foot in the door

Honestly, I’d check to see if you can get your hands on a Studio 5000 and/or FactoryTalk license through work or education. They’re kinda hard to get so if not, watch a bunch of videos on them and maybe see if someone is doing some sort of small project or research just to get your foot in the door. If you can find an integrator company, you’ll get a ton of experience!
