I swear, this woman sang this song 8 times a week as though it was a Sondheim masterpiece rather than the vaguely incoherent pop it is I bartended at the Winter Garden during the MM run and it was the only part of the show I made a point of watching. She sang it FULL OUT, vocal cords be damned, at every performance.

Went last night. Sat 5/18. Eden came out and spoke to nearly everyone who waited. She could not have been more gracious. The entire cast was lovely. Heartbreaking. The critics really screwed them.

Sally Bowels wasn't a very good singer, so the actress has to pretend her singing voice isn't good (even though you can clearly hear her real voice coming through). A bit like the actress who played Lucy in the film Sweeny Todd (She played Mary Poppins in the West End). Cabaret is a dark film indeed
