Do you use Ceylon cinnamon?
@abejitasqueaksАй бұрын
Ceylon cinnamon or true cinammon is the onlh cinammon used therapeutically internally. Cassia is toxic to the liver in doses more than sprinkles.

Hi! Just came across your channel and my gosh, you are wonderful! I was wondering, would it be a good idea to seal and simmer in a slow cooker water bath on low heat for maybe 6 hrs or so? Would that help in keeping the plant material from degradation due to heat, while still maintaining a slightly longer extraction period? Thanks❤

Hi Julie. I have a question I’ve tried to find the answer to but I can’t find any info and was hopeful maybe you know? I planted ashwagandha and pulled them today and the roots look like they have brown lesions on them. I don’t know if this is normal or if they are still usable or if I should just discard them. Would you happen to know?

QUESTION- Do you know if Autumn Olive leaves the same medicinal properties as the Olive leaves that you are using ( what kind of Olive leaves are you using?) or any medicinal properties at all ?

Quick question! Can you just infuse the botanicals directly into rubbing alcohol to create the liniment if time is not an issue?

I think your brilliant , a brilliant herbalist and teacher. One thing I would like to ask is I think it was saja Popham who said another herbal guy has looked at meadow sweet and said there is not much salicylic acid in meadow sweet and in a large amount of plant it would equal about half a baby asprin. He then went on to say how it actually looks after us by helping the gut where asprin destroys it. So just like your saying. I went off track sorry, so yeah just wonder what you think about that as I hear it called natures asprin so often but am now confused. Thanks, I am so pleased I've found your teachings, you are a real talent.

I want to thank you for this video, in particular. I have been joining you on KZbin for a little while now and I am currently in school for herbalism in North Carolina. This lesson gave me the biggest AHA! moment about how I look at treating specific things. I thought about what energy means for me and realized that if I treated, for instance, my joint pain and inflammation I would feel "lighter" which could affect my mood, which could then affect motivation to do things I currently shy away from due to pain and muscle fatigue...I just went down a rabbit hole in my mind and suddenly grasped formulation in a whole new way. THANK YOU!!!

Your lesson on glycerites helped me IMMENSELY as I am alcohol free and working toward building a "sober apothecary".

If you are extracting with a lower percentage alcohol with a little higher water content, will it extract the minerals because of the water content?
@jrobertgadams77664 ай бұрын
You need to make sure to have at least 25% alcohol content at the end, to preserve your product. Too much water will spoil it. As long as there is some water, you will extract vit / minerals.
@GreenWisdomHerbalStudies3 ай бұрын
and if you want to enhance mineral extraction, lower the pH (add some acidity), with a splash of vinegar or lemon juice or a bit of citric acid

How can anyone not LOVE the aroma of Chaparral, aka Greasewood or Creosote bush?? It smells like pure rain. If I need an aroma booster, I go outside, pick a few leaves, crush in my fingers & immediately I am on a beloved rainy vacation. It is all over southern CA into Arizona. I happen to have a good 50 bushes on my property. I have a large jar of homemade oil on my counter as I type. Love it!
