Considering these elevators are obviously no longer maintained by OTIS (but some random third party generic distributor), I wouldn't be surprised if it happens, especially considering this plaza section is very quiet now.

Yep, very crap refurbishment/mod indeed. The one in the little plaza beside this hotel is still original (though I doubt that'll be the case for much longer, considering how the plaza barely has any tenants inside anymore).

They're just mods (not full replacements), but I agree. The old elevators were horribly undermaintained.

These should be very early Iris NV. The chimes are the newer ones after Di series was discontinued.

Wonder if the chime modules for Series 1 chimes are also made by Xizi Otis/Otis Electric. In any case, it seems that chime is now getting rare. I'm not sure where else has those chimes.

Yep, quite sad. But honestly, that's a bit of a trend with wet market vertical transportation - they tend to get dirty, undermaintained, then forever left derelict. Similar to Pasar Tebet Barat's lone single-file GoldStar escalator which rarely ever worked, then became derelict before Hyundai modernized it with some in-truss modernization, but the "new" escalator was never turned on, at least not the last time I was there. :/

Only to go down to the second underpass. That escalator is on the waiting area between tracks 3-4. Currently CL passengers are required to go back up the stairs to platform 3/4 to then go down the already-installed escalators that lead back to an underpass, which then go back up to the exit. The first escalator featured is the platform 3-4 escalator (though I suspect there's supposed to be 2 more, currently being installed), the second escalator is the one near the entrance/exit.

Yep, yet another one. Oddly enough, I don't think FUJI *only* resells Canny's products - some of their older elevators in Jatinegara, Matraman, and Manggarai stations seem to more directly resemble Shanghai STEP's products.

IMO, it is true that these elevators were already aging by the time the mod was done (2018). There were several complaints of the elevators "adjustment running" (JU), giving the impression that the elevators got stuck momentarily, and reliability generally wasn't the best (I would know; I used to live here when these were still original). But this is an incredibly cheap mod and all the character these elevators used to have, is now gone. TKE should've done the mod IMO, with newer controller and probably motor. That probably would've been sufficient without needing to be completely replaced.

I do hope KAI makes a long-term commitment to rely on major brands for maintenance. IMO KAI's doing a bit better in vertical transportation matters; Pasar Senen, Yogyakarta, and Purwokerto all have TKE, while this and Bojonggede have Hyundai. I sincerely hope these last, and I also hope KAI starts ordering bigger-sized elevators like these.

As in before it was first turned on, or currently? I haven't come to this shelter in a while so I don't know how this elevator is doing currently.

Don't know why Beachwalk 2 gets good Schindler elevators and escalators while the original part of the mall's elevators gets horribly treated by being maintained by a local elevator maintenance provider. It's clear these elevators aren't in the best of condition (anymore) despite them barely being 12 years old currently.

Honestly, I think these are okay as it is. IMO these are still "mendingan" compared to the shoddy FUJI units in the Kemenhub-renovated stations.

Just realized the elevator at Travoy Hub has this feature as well.

I see. Though I wonder how the B1 and B2 floors don't even show visibly on the COP, unless those lights for each floor text can be turned off?

@@wintorialslift AFAIK locked floors aren't visible/illuminating on the COP and it has been like that since FI GL. This doesn't apply if keycard reader is installed.
