Honda sucked on this year model making you take the bumper off to get to the tail light. At least they did better on later models and allow the tail light to be removed without removing the bumper. Unfortunately my car has to have the bumper removed.

You can salvage the mounting ring and the wiring harness from the old speakers.

I tried to do that, but for the kit at $10. It was not worth cutting through steel and plastic and wasting time.

@@anilbaksh9962 Yes it took time for me. Mostly to remove the thin plastic rim on the top so the speakers I bought could sit lower. But you don't need to and other than that, you just cut some plastic ribs and tear out the old speaker. Even removing the harness you can wiggle and rip it off without tools. Then just cut the wires and solder them to your speakers. I live in Canada so everything is more expensive for me, I saved like $60.

Yes on the EX model,, there is a subwoofer in the middle. It's an 8" but a very short base, so a regular sub needs modification. Google it first before buying a replacement.

You can cut about 1 inch from a metal bar that runs across the truck and near the rear speaker magnets. My magnets actually touched the metal bar which shorts the speakers out and will cause your amp to go into protection mode so you don't blow the speaker or amp. You need a tool that can cut metal and you need to remove at least 1/2 inch but better to do 1 inch just to be safe. You never want metal touching your speaker magnets.

Yes take a bird beak plires and go in the trunk. Squeeze and push up the small white clips. I beleive there are 12 total. DON'T forget to unplug the power wire for the brake light on the back . It should come off super easy.

I did not realize you said putting it back - just put the clips on deck underside and try to line it back up- the just press it back in. Mine is still loose because I have to re tint the back glass. Next week i have an appointment to do that and the headliner. I also have a si wing to swap out the original one and it now rides on 30 year old vintage chrome rims. I put up an updated video once it's all done.

WOW that really sucks and that bar is definitely extremely dangerous with how you put it together like that which is crazy but since you already have it and it broke you should find a way to weld it back together and then grind over the welding to make it smooth so then at least you can use it again.

@anilbaksh9962
@anilbaksh9962 4 жыл бұрын
Yes - there are 12 clips and disconnect the power to the brakelight from inside the trunk. I found it you took a small needle nose pleiyres and squeezed and push up the clips from the inside of the trunk made it a whole lot easier than trying to pull it off from the top alone. I do believe there are also 2 clips on the inside when you fold down the rear seat.
