Hi Greg fantastic video...Out of Interest how much fuel did you use during your epic adventure? Going to give this a go using a Yamaha F150 and a hundred litre capacity Rib. Guesiing its best to set off early doors? Thanks in advance..
@gregmarthabutler2 ай бұрын
@@andrewmorey4752 set off any time as long as the tide allows you through either end of the Menai straits, neaps are fine springs can be dodgy., Through the infamous Caernarfon Bar especially. I used approx 100ltrs with my 300, its just over 90miles round plus going in and out of coves. I recommend taking spare fuel for sure, Just incase. Other than that have lots of fun and just beware of little rocks under the surface nearer the shore. 😉

GREAT VIDEO¡ BUT I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU TAKE DEEP ENOUGH TO TURN THE MOTOR ON, AND HOW YOU TAKE THE JETSKY TO THE SHORE WITH THW MOTOR OFF SOTHE MOTOR DOES NOT TAKE SAND AND DEBRIS IN THE WATER INTAKE
@gregmarthabutler9 ай бұрын
Ye its difficult on such a shallow beach, but once off the trailer you can push it further out, being careful of surroundings and whats underfoot, a slightly steeper beach would be better but nature is nature. I usually, push the ski out to just over knee height and then jump on and start up at idle, this will reduce the risk of picking anything up until its deep enough, usually in the uk at least you cant go more than 4knots within approx 50-100mtrs (this varies) due to swimming areas. Its all about minimising sand intake, you can only do so much, or else its swim out and maybe put yourself in danger. Simply dont come near the beach with too much much throttle. Always wash the ski out after use. Hope this helps

@@gregmarthabutler liking your style. I’m a complete newbie to boats so this sort of thing is inspiring. Not that I’d ever try it without experienced sailers. I live on the west coast of Ireland not far from Galway Bay. Luckily we have lots of inland waterways to build up my boating skills.
