The old ways haven’t been as much at threat as they are now that we British are fast hurtling towards minority status

Fairy spotted at 0:07 towards bottom of screen. It seems they deemed it unwise to linger once the dance started, almost getting trampled a number of times 😅

Absolutely brilliant. Love it, bring it on. ❤❤❤

This transforms it from a rather silly dance to a possibly ancient ritual dancing.

But the 'rather silly dance' is the older form.

What tune is this?
@antveal5 ай бұрын
It's actually a tune composed by a previous fiddle player in Beltane, Jackie Tolliday Bailey. If you're keen to play it we do have the music and can send you a copy
@Roy_15 ай бұрын
@@antveal Thank you, I appreciate it, it's a cool sounding tune! I can try by ear, but I was wondering if it was a standard.

I'm a new subscriber and haven't, being American, been exposed to Morris dancing until very recently. I'm a real fan of one of the Beltane dancers here: he's young, tall and is particularly attuned, as all really good dancers are to the music. Graceful, swaying, gifted.. I looked forward to seeing him this year. I named him, the strapped boot guy, for obvious reasons. Can you tell me what's happened to him?

Strapping boot guy and his whole family are very much still in their ranks!

Very complex dance routine, it must take a lot of practise. The filming was a bit chaotic. I'm surprises they celebrate Cornwall Wreckers, that's like having a public holiday for the Manson Family.
