Just bought Galaxy S24, can confirm that the problem exists (to my big surprise and disappointment). My mother does not see or feel any difference, but I feel like it is painful to use when compared to my iPhone 6S (IPS) or even to my older Samsung Galaxy S4. The latter I haven't used for a few years, but don't remember any flicker problems like that. S24 review on notebookcheck website says: "Samsung uses the PWM modulation type including screen flickering to regulate the screen brightness. In our measurement with the oscilloscope, the amplitude curve is very uniform across the entire brightness spectrum and fluctuates constantly between 240 Hz and 480 Hz" (which should be better when compared to Pixel 8 or budget galaxies like A25 or A55 [120 Hz to 240 Hz]. It seems like the advertised 2600 nits of S24 comes to its disadvantage (possibly), as you will tend to lower the brightness even more which will produce even more flicker (?). My head does not hurt, but my eyes react immediately with fatigue. Terrible. Also white balance is off on S24, when compared to iPhone 6S, colors seem yellowish at least with 'Natural' color profile.

I bought one 2 weeks ago and I did not crashed or dropped to any where . it has cracked when it was in my pocket when I looked at the screen I was shocked and screen cracked from right on/off button. There are mainly 3 split line , one towards to above camera , anothe to bottom and last one directly to left edge. It is realy fast phone but screen disappointed me. It cost me 200 hundred dollars to change in samsung service. Samsung must realize it and have to support it. But they have not yet. I use iphone for 6 years and dropped crashed it hundred times and never cracked the screen.

I am not good at taking selfies, I am more into typing and gaming, so with a battery this size, a neat clean screen with a hidden selfie camera, is a great phone to use for either watching a movie or anything, and playing video games, for taking pictures, it's okay if it takes time to deliver a good photo, it's ideally a great phone in my opinion 👌🏻

I bought Galaxy S23 two weeks ago. It gives fatigue to my eyes in the first week using it. Meanwhile, my old Galaxy S7 and Galaxy A15 works fine for my eyes. No pain and no fatigue after using it for extended period. Is it because S23 using Dynamic amoled instead of super amoled (A15, S7)? or because samsung using higher pwm frequency default to reach peak brightness their galaxy s23? This is so annoying. Expensive phone but it hurts your eyes.

Bit of an error around 3:16, but it doesn't change the main point of the video at all. The frequency doesn't change when you dim down with PWM; the pulse width does (hence the name, Pulse Width Modulation). The frequency is constant. Basically, at 100% brightness the screen is always at max brightness, but at lower values, it rapidly switches between max brightness and a lower value (possibly even having it entirely off). The lower the brightness, the longer the screen stays at the lower brightness every cycle. So it might be 50% on/50% off at a mid brightness, and 10% on/90% off at a low brightness setting. A lower pulse width is generally more annoying than a higher one.
