I like these kinds of videos... perhaps a chart of what defines a rev dominant vs speed dominant bowler. I am in the middle, but I can quicken my feet to increase speed and adjust my release for more/less revs as needed.

I never really liked this way of categorizing a bowling arsenal, as it sometimes confused me when actually needing to change balls. Reading some of the comments below reminds me of that. People may have X-Cells drilled with layouts that make it more angular/sharp downlane, or someone may have an Infinity with a rougher finish or a smoother layout. Nice video regardless, I enjoy the content of this channel.

I’m a 2 hander with a high rev rate and a 13-14 mph ball speed, my current arsenal consists of a Trailblazer solid, a Phaze 2, and a red white dot which doubles as a spare ball and strike ball once the lanes are super dry, I also have a nu blue that I typically don’t bring. What balls would you recommend to get upgrade my arsenal, however I would like to keep it around 3-4 balls as once you get passed that it’s a pain to bring them with me
@carmmarian812418 сағат бұрын
My son (14) is a 2 hander with a slower ball speed than you (11-12)mph. He has had some success on THS with VEBO,Infinite Physics,Huslte M&M. He wants a Optimum idol next. Not sure if that would fit him or not. Any suggestions from anybody would be great.
@SockLeft17 сағат бұрын
I think the idol might be a touch too strong for him, unless if you get it drilled weaker, but I feel like a radical spy would be a great fit for him if he wants to play straight, cuz to be honest I prefer to play straighter as it’s easier to repeat shots more consistently and I feel like it carries a bit better than hooking the whole lane
@carmmarian812417 сағат бұрын
Thanks I will look into that ball. He has his balls drilled with a weak 2LS. THS he bowls on is not dry so that helps him. He prefers to play staighter also
@SockLeft15 сағат бұрын
@@carmmarian8124or even a hammer axe, the radical spy is a spare ball with a asymmetric core and the axe is a spare ball with a reactive cover

what types of ball layouts would you recommend for rev dominant players. are you putting weaking drillings on these weaker balls? or a versatile driling like the Pin over the bridge?
@ZVLBowling16 сағат бұрын
You can get away with stronger drillings on the weaker balls even when rev dominant - the weaker covers help more than the core

Great Video! I am more rev dominate and have trouble throwing the "Big Balls" My current arsenal is the Ultimate Defender, Defender Hybrid, Black Venom, Nu Blue polished, Sneak Attack and the Tundra Blue Fire. Ultimate Defender Rarely gets used on house shots. Didn't like the Nu Blue on house shots until I shined it up. The Defender Hybrid and Tundra Blue Fire have been getting the most use out of my bag recently. May replace the Defender Hybrid with the DV8 Mantra soon.

I was hoping to see the IQ tour ruby down low. It’s my go to since I’m quite rev dominant. I’ve been trying to fit the Sublime in my bag above the ruby. Would that be closer to a strong sharp or a medium sharp?
@ZVLBowling16 сағат бұрын
The Ruby would also fit in that slot! As for the Sublime, it’ll probably be closer to a strong/sharp for you

Heyy I was wondering if you can help me. Speaking of Brunswick Brand Arsenal for tourney play/leauge for collegiate, I need help build one ish, Right now i have a Storm Supernova, and Hammer Black pearl Urethane, I’ve been looking at Theorem/Vaporize for a strong sharp, Storm Ion Pro for a benchmark/Med Smooth, And a Track Stealth Hybrid for Med Sharp. Due to contracts i am limited to Only 2 now brunswick brand balls. FYI i am also a 2hander. Most likely going to pick up a plastic for spares if i can’t use urethane for them. as for the balls i listed i was wondering the goods and bad, if it overlaps or something doesn’t work out
@ZVLBowlingКүн бұрын
What you mention is a great lineup! If you can only have 2 Brunswick balls, I’d make sure to have the urethane and Theorem/Vaporize! The medium/sharp slot can be filled with another brand

Thanks for the tips. I bowled league for the first time last Wednesday, averaging 162 for my four games. I. missed a few spares I should have made, so I focused on spare shooting when I practised on Monday. I'm looking forward to next Wednesday (my teammate bowls today - it's a singles league, so only one person per team bowls each week).

Another great video. I'm trying to figure out the best 3 ball arsenal for league. I'm on synthetic wood panel lanes. 15 degrees tilt and axis, 175-200 rev rate, 12-16 mph at pins, left-handed, thumb-in, down-and-in player. My stock is Pure Envy, Jackal Ghost, Archetype Hybrid, Dark Web Hybrid, Effect, and Trouble Maker Pearl. I'm leaning towards the Pure Envy or Jackal Ghost, followed by the Effect, and lastly, the Trouble Maker Pearl. Does that cover enough basis for my 3 ball or would you recommend another from my list? Thanks!

It’s corny, but my favorite way to remember RG is by thinking of it as “resistance to the guice.” The higher the RG, the later it’ll hook, cuz it has a higher resistance to the guice (juice/hand) you put into it.
