Wow!! This is amazing:) I was visiting family in Minnesota last week because I had been asked to be the “emergency stand in piano guy” for the winter chorus performance…I went to see my niece Abby perform and I ended up being asked to be the piano guy lol. This is one of the songs they performed, and I learned this partially from your video. Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work!! Why the shed for portable generator is needed to operate? I don’t get it!

Because whole home generators are extremely expensive. This way you can have whole home power with a generator around $1500 and keep it protected.

I have always heard that you need 4 feet or ventilation on all sides of a generator. Plastic does not like exhaust temperatures.

Why vent the exhaust and the attic fan? That small attic fan should be moving over 1500 CFM - that's conservatively enough to move all of the air from a 34 cubic foot container over 10 times per minute. That should be plenty to keep both temperatures down and expel exhaust faster than the generator could fill the box.

You never want exhaust gas into a confined space. The engine also gives off a lot of heat. The exhaust piping and attic fan are correct, especially if you plan to use Propane and keep it in the same shed. My first try bombed as I didn’t have enough width without taking off the wheels. Putting together a significantly larger shed now to accommodate both generator and fuel and will use most of what was used here. Not sure the exhaust is the best but there are options. Overall a good build.

I live I. South east Florida and am working on the same thing. Every video shows interior insulation but I am concerned it would serve to keep the heat inside.
