I love Neurosis thats my favourite band, i started years ago in the search of their sound. I know that the base its a Rat and I started to use different types of overdrives trying to match the sound that They have in the times of Grace record without success, I started to follow your work recently and I love what you do with occult also, I love this combination and I think thats very near what ive been searching but I have a question for you please? For the sound Im looking for its better szczur or carrion? I Hope you like Neurosis to give me your opinion…. Stay with the awsome work you are doing !!! Congrats!!!

@@simaomendes1927 it’s a great band and love their tones too! ☺️ Carrion can be treated as an extended version of Szczur. I build them on the same PCB. With Carrion you will get everything Szczur can do + much more. Release of Szczur was pretty spontaneous, I didn’t expect it will become my bestseller. 😁

Where did you possibly source all of the parts to build a complete rat for under $10?

I love breadboarding pedal circuits. It's a lot of fun. As a bass player, pedals made specifically for bass are pretty anemic. It is fun experimenting to get a sound out of my bass that I can't find elsewhere. There is a ton of satisfaction in it too.

glad electrical eng nerds aren't the only ones who love breadboarding

Commercial analog effect boards aren’t made with magic. All you’re doing here is making your own so you can customize it how you like.

@@jackinzbox. As someone that's only been able to afford a Midi keyboard and use VST's, I just think this is really cool. No hate. I can't wait to try it myself. Most of my time making music is spent trying to make it sound like it was actually played by a person, not just a machine. Swing helps, but the real thing can't be replaced. You can just feel it.

Pretty certain with the right software you can also do this digitally on the computer as well.
