I camped all my life. I My parents had those tents. I like the tents back in the 1950's , now they have the dome tents which are really hard to get in and out of. I am in my 70's and I am still camp all summer but now I have a trailer.

Interesting timing on this. Ironically, it was the atomic bomb that led to American E.W. Deming going to Japan in the 50s and helping them focus on production quality with his "System of Profound Knowledge". This and his focus on "statistical product quality", and continuous improvement were the precursors to some of the LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies. This, combined with the Toyota Production System that started in their early textile business, led to the rise of Japanese auto making. My point is that we had everything we needed here years before our implosion....if anyone wanted to listen. Deming had been preaching his principles around waste and statistical management for years, but no one was interested. Sounds familiar. The auto-industry then was fat and happy and customer agnostic, just like the RV industry has been. I hope Elkhart gets a wakeup call that does not start with a very bright light.

Doom! Gloom! The sky is falling! News flash folks, the quality control issues of RV’s is not a new phenomenon. I’ve had 4 travel trailers over the past 12 years. If you are the type of person who doesn’t know how to fix things or how to use tools and need to go back to the dealer to have a light bulb changed then you are in for a lot of disappointments. These things are a house on wheels that also need to be built as lightweight as possible so people can hitch them to their vehicles and pull them down the road. While towing they are hitting potholes, swaying back and forth while many times being overloaded by people who ignore their published weight capacities. Yes, there are no lemon laws, etc. So grab your tools and hit road. That’s how the game is played…….

Lack of skilled workers and RV manufactures are focused more on profits than quality.

When you make crap - eventually, you step into it.

A car is a highly standardized product, each manufacturer has maybe 20-30 models and they built them by the tens or hundred thousands. RV manufacturer have more models - and change them yearly and don't produce nearly as much. So the learning effect from a lean system doesn't pans out. I never buy a first year model car/truck - they usually get all the kinks worked out in year 3-5. I can do that because the same model of car is usually produced 7-10 years. Any RV is only produced for a year - maybe two when the floorplan is popular. The RV industry would need to slow down - build the same floorplan for a couple of years and work out the issues - optimize etc. But with the current "All new every year" sales model- that will be difficult. "New" does not mean good!! With the latest and greatest your always an free tester for the manufacturer.

I got a Cougar and I feel like I am their personal mechanic. The warranty is a joke, everything is considered wear and tear. If you take it in to the dealer you might not see your RV again. And really, is it really that much more expensive to use lock nuts and not those garbage sheet metal and wood screws that back out.

They, the manufactures, are killing the market. The quality product is not there and they are way overpriced for the product sold. I have been following for years, have wanted to buy one, but have put it off because of all the negative reports from buyers. I worked hard for my money and don't want to throw it away on poor quality. Just my thoughts...

Having witnessed the Lean manufacturing transformation process in a steel company, and being on the team that facilitated that transformation in a global food processing corporation, I can confirm that it does improve quality, reduces waste, increases employee satisfaction, and increases profitability, and in very measurable terms. I’ve touted the concept on another channel where there is a push for a “continuous improvement program” in the industry, however, I’m not sure there is an understanding of the fundamentals and activities required to achieve that goal by the facilitator of that program. The industry itself, as individual companies, must decide to survive and thrive. The transformation can be done and in a relatively short amount of time. They’ve just never had a reason to improve,,, until now… Keep up the pressure and thanks again.

The problem the US manufactures just put money ahead of safety and quality. Just look a Boeing screw the passenger and people that uses the product a once grate company will soon end up in chapter 11.

I did a tour of an RV factory, I was shocked at the scrap, waste and staples when there should have been a screw etc. Many workers are paid "by the piece". And the 500K ones come out the same door as the 80K ones. I won't even mention the spaghetti wiring.

I was going to buy a trailer for camping but the qaulity is so bad now that i refuse to spend my money on this junk. It sad. There losing my buisness and others are following.

I would leave T-Mobile. I did a number of months ago. I loved them in the past but they have decided to go in a different direction.

T-Mobile announced a delay in rolling out the new plan. They claimed ‘technical issues’. To me this says, customer posts caused an uproar that got the attention of TM decision makers. That said, “we the people” (most) are always looking for ways to hack something. The T&C clearly states a fixed location. Address of account registration. I’ve had TM LTE since it rolled out. We’re in the north GA woods. The app usually show ‘good’ strength sometimes ‘weak’. Overall I am pleased. We cut the cord of $240.000 per month. We buy apps as needed if we want to watch a particular show. We have the no commercial Discover Plus app. $9.99 per month. It has everything we want to watch, or we mirror my iPad to watch KZbin.

I have been using T-Mobile Home Internet for the last 2-3 years while RVing. It has been great service. If my rates moves from $50/mo to the $160/mo I will most certainly bail. That is outrageous! I have heard that existing customers are 'grand fathered' but I don't know this for sure. Anyone hear different?

It's about time we cut off the free loaders using service against T&C's.

At these prices the only altlernative (and you're still doubling your price) is STARLINK (presuming you can get it) at $100mo

My neighbor & other people on my street has tmobile home internet. But when I get one & try it out, the signal is TERRIBLE at my house. Had it a week & got rid of it

Smart light bulbs and outlets use up 50 device ports on the router pretty quickly.

Google Fiber is amazing for those that can get it, I'm luckily on the Fios fiber section but T-Mobile is becoming a mess once John Legere step down as T-Mobile CEO

Why not just use your phone as a hotspot?

the infrastructure is already in place. it is not costing them any more than previously. if anything itll cost them more for more CSR hours for all the cancellations they will recieve. 4x the current cost? T-Mobile execs are high as F!@#

I'd caution anyone thinking of using just one service for home / RV internet moving the modem from place to place etc. The downside is lots of folks run IOT devices at home. IF you were to take your router out of the house , any devices at that point aren't connected. So cameras? Wifi thermostats, etc..

for 100 bucks you can buy an lte modem and then use any lte cell sim to get as much internet as your phone gets

AT&T internet air is $55 or $35 for AT&T customers with existing wireless service.

The best thing any T-Mobile subscriber can do, if affected, is to cancel ALL of their T-mobile lines and go to a different carrier. Vote with your wallet.
