The only way to break the cycle is to stop the victim mentality. I'm sure that you have a good reason for writing this book, but claiming that everyone is a victim is not healthy and is what has created the race wars across this country. Stop victim mentality immediately and perhaps we're on the right path to healing

Jason. Thank you so much for your passion. It is awesome! Phyllis, in this short is talking about how people who engage in criminal acts typically have been victimized earlier on in their lives. She says that if we can be aware of that, we can help them. You and her have the same goals!

Inner voice or intuition? Two different things
@thewellnesscenterpodcast6 ай бұрын
Can they be both?
@blablabla26166 ай бұрын
Well i guess it may be different for every1? for me i just define them differently as in my inner voice as my inber diologue, intuition comes thru for me more as a knowing that is instantly in me-not a thought sentance.

what makes you think there is a “subconscious?”
@thewellnesscenterpodcast8 ай бұрын
We believe there is a integral processing system to runs our lives. We firmly believe that unless you are aware of it, life runs on about 95% autopilot. The subconscious is responsible for making sure life continues to function.

Never fake, imo. When you deceive yourself that way - trick your autonomic response systems to manipulate yourself into achieving some goal - you thereby rob yourself of the ongoing ability to continually reassess what goals remain worth striving towards. Those very same autonomic response mechanisms you'd be redirecting, are crucial to that process of reassessing, day to day and moment to moment, what you should be trying to do. So you might make some IT, but only to find, after a life wasted, that 'IT' was, in retrospect, the whimsical momentary fantasy of an ignorant teenager, locked into place for decades by self-trickery.

Hey! Great point. In recovery work there are so many ways you can look at this situation. The "get up and get out" skill is great for people looking to balance themselves quickly so they can start looking at the emotions more objectively. Fighting through emotions, like you mentioned is great when you feel grounded enough to do so. I think both can be applied in different situations. Thank you for your input!
