So i have a question about the 300r could it be used as a race bike on a track and a trail bike would it fit both of those roles ? v
@LCARSADV9 күн бұрын
If by track you mean motocross, 4 strokes are more suited to that along with their suspension and gear ratios. But if you mean hare scrambles or enduro type stuff then yes, the 300 is an amazing trail bike! Just remember Mx bikes and enduro bikes are very different

Did you mount a license plate...if yes, how? Thanks
@LCARSADV13 күн бұрын
So at first I would use an enduro engineering mount and then I broke that too. My solution has been to copy my plate then laminate, then I cut a piece of playin milk jug to the plate size and then zip tie it through. No problems since lol! You could carry your real play in your backpack if you wanted to I guess.

1980’s bikes XR, TT, DR , KLX were excellent bikes. Sure a bit heavy compared to today and kickstarting on a steep slippery slope needed a bit of a balance act . Today I use a Thumpstar / GPX air cooled bike . Only luxury is the electric start .

How does the tse 250r compare to the 300
@AS9142027 күн бұрын
Completely different engine. Tse250r has Yamaha Dt230 lanza 230cc clone engine which is for "everyday road use" and its hasnt got Nearly the power of tse300r. Engine is really similar to Yamaha blaster (allthough thats Air cooled), Yamaha Sweeet wr200 and dt125r. Tse300r the last carburated Ktm exc/xc-w 300 clone engine so real racing offroad engine.. id still love to get the tse230, Port it Really Hard,V-force reeds,36mm or 38mm pwk airstriker, pipe calculated and made for the cylinders high rpm porting spec and hpi outer rotor ignition.. BAracing has a videos about dt125r which has 200cc fully built engine and its putting 54rwhp on dyno and it goes +180km/h because of longer road gearing vs tse300r..

I was looking at getting one of these bikes. Went to gpx website and found out it has a different engine now. Still air cooled but 4 valve and fuel injected. I have no clue who makes the enging. Have you had a chance to see one of the new bikes?
@LCARSADV2 ай бұрын
No, I haven’t seen it but upgrading it to a four valve and fuel injection is a pretty cool thing if you ask me and I would get one in a heartbeat. I kinda liked my bike for the carburetor, but honestly fuel injection is a good thing. It’s a fantastic bike, one of my favorites.

This year i brought 2x 2 liter water bags! Also cheated, the CDI in my 1999 KTM 250 went kaput so I borrowed my buddies 2020 beta 300RR. Thing went on reserve at about 30 miles and was empty at 50, so having it stall on the steepest hills to switch to reserve sucked, but that bike didn't care, took back off in second gear on the steepest stuff no problem!

I ran into a similar issue you did Lcars, I wanted thermostat I could see temps so I could keep a eye on things like how long it could idle before getting hot or how well the factory cooling works on hot days. I have a 23 GpX300. I ordered two 2.0 caps off eBay for my 96 ktm 360 also but didn’t think much of it. I got it home and the 2.0 was throwing me off that it might be specific to certain machine so I looked at the stock rad cap out of curiosity and it’s stamped 1.8 on my gpx and 1.4 on my ktm. I realized you have to match the cap to the bike. I went to Rocky Mountain for reference and it mentions the 2.0 cap fits my ktm360, in reality needs a 1.4. Crazy to me they have them listed as correct fit.
