The manga was one of the best I've ever read. The anime did not portray at all the story. The incest is only a small part of the whole Angel Sanctuary universe. The end of the manga is also so complex that after 20 years I still think about it as one of the best plot twist in manga.

I am getting to the point where this game is somewhat easy until the final boss. That final boss has curbed stomped me every time I got to him. It just has so many types of attacks that it gets overwhelming, especially when the boss gets low on health. Probably made it to the end a dozen times. He just does so much damage. Where I feel Hades has harder levels, this game has harder bosses

great musical advice

Good review. I had my fun with the game. It was a nice change to play a metroidvania that you can play through in a breeze and not getting crushed all the time. The weapon and equipment upgrade system was a lot of fun. Also the fighting combo attacks. And the enemies are quite cool. By the way, cool portishead riddim intro tune. Who is the artist?

Was this made before AMC produced a last season - 4? Because there was no ambiguity in that ending what so ever. It ties everything up.

Scrolling through YT and found your review. Good job! This, like many was one of my first intros in anime along with Lupin, Gatchaman, and the og DB. And as you can see this title was waay different from the usual fare; with the plot, story and horror elements. I remember being hooked by the story and pacing as well. The only thing I differ on from your review is the ending with the main villain. The main plot element from the very beginning was the life of the Wu was directly linked to the master. That’s why Benaris was trying to make the deal with Pai so he could double cross the main bad and become the new boss of everything. So when Pai attacked the alter and destroyed the defenseless “master” it equated to an immediate one shot of his Wu, with no healing or restoration possible. It might not be the ending everyone wanted, but it wasn’t out of context to the story.

The only negative thing was they didn't do a PC port for this game like they did for the first one. Making exposure to this game and availability very limited after the PS2's lifespan ended.

After watching the first episode, with Izumo, miko, and Kushinada, I understood that this is based on the story of the extermination of the eight-forked serpent in Japanese mythology. I missed it, I watched it in real time back then. It was the year before Evangelion. For Yuzo Takada's works, “3×3 EYES” and “BLUE SEED” are especially masterpieces.

Saw this back in the day on Sunday morning anime that the Science Fiction Channel played... they used to show alot of shows back then, (Iria, Ghost in the Shell, Tank Police...)
