I just got this belt today, referred by my chiropractor. I tried a different larger Pro something belt on amazon first and it was horrible, bulky n hanging off a size zero model wearing it like she was wearing an 80s off the hip sling belt.. Ugh!!! That should have tipped me off. Im working on positioning it now. Ideally us this ment for ender or on top of clothes?

Hi there! The lower position is typically worn for hip and symphysis pubis support or when the baby moves low in the belly as the body prepares for delivery, and so the Serola Sacroiliac Belt should be worn primarily in the upper position, as mentioned in the video above, for sacroiliac and symphysis pubis joints support and hip realignment postpartum. For more information, please visit: www.serola.net/markets/si-joint-pain-pregnancy/

I have arthritis in my SI joints. I am in constant pain when on my feet. Would I benefit from using your belt?
@serolabiomechanics
@serolabiomechanics 3 ай бұрын
Hi there! The sacroiliac joint is the center of the motion, shock absorption, and weight transfer between the upper and lower body, and when force is transmitted superiorly or inferiorly through the body, a spring like action takes place. Standing puts downward force onto the Sacrum and creates a lot of stress on the Sacroiliac ligaments which can cause a nutation lesion. By acting as an external ligament, the Serola Belt helps provide stability to the base of your spine and puts the Sacroiliac Joint back into a normal rage of motion which removes the stress on the ligaments and may provide pain relief. For more information and visuals, please visit www.serola.net/mind-map-view/ and select the Lateral View N / CN (Gravitational Line)!

I don't know how to judge what'too tight' is. Can you give me any guidance?
@serolabiomechanics
@serolabiomechanics 8 ай бұрын
Hello. Proper belt tightness is different for each individual due to varying amounts of soft tissue on one’s pelvis. Put the first (non-elastic) layer of the Serola Sacroiliac Belt on about as tight as you can so it prevents excess motion. The ideal tightness is about what one would use to tie shoestrings. Thanks for your question.

If it's just a belt that goes around your waist, then why doesn't our BELT FROM OUR PANTS do the same thing? Seems to go in the exact same place.
@serolabiomechanics
@serolabiomechanics 9 ай бұрын
You shouldn't use a belt with a buckle because using one gives too much leverage and can lead to overtightening and more dysfunction and pain. Within the ligamentous portion of the SIJ, there are nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. Excessive compression of the joint can irritate these nerves and vessels and cause pain, but this is less likely to happen with the Serola Belt because there is no buckle to cinch the belt excessively tight. Thanks for your question.

I have lower lumbar pain and stiffness and feel two lower lumbar back mice one on each side of my lumbar in line with the hip bone about one hand or 6 inches from hip bone that are sore or tender to the touch. I also get intermittent pain that comes and goes over public bone likely referred to the the synthesis pubis joint and to each side of it which I notice is immediately relieved when I stretch out my lumbar. I also have 2 inguinal hernias on right side of pelvis and 1 femeral hernia. I don't know how these occurred or how to correct them. I don't know what is causing what. I do much lifting heavy things and on my feet a lot.

Some intial thoughts but first some background! Troubles started about 2 year ago with sciatica, developed into severe low backpain, got moving again with chiro but suffered bad with periformis, it band, calf, foot and latts pian,ann not to mention 6 months of chronic tfl pain. Couldnt walk 1 mile without discomfort. Got this belt and like a light switch my symptoms disappeared, immediately went back to long hikes (20km) box fit tennis kitessurfing. ZERO symptoms!!! I literally cant believe it. Everyone is different and maybe you think you have sijoint issues but its somthing else... I have an mri next week will be suprised if its anything but the si and surrounding ligaments. Just my takeo it realise weare all different. Xx

I've had SI pain for over 4 years and have been seeing a Chiro for over 3 years, treated with a Thompson Drop table after a full set of Xrays..... Never once did he suggest this belt. Out of desperation, I purchased one from Amazon and I can't believe the difference! I have hardly any pain, I can walk normally again and my leg on the affected side has straightened out, my toes no longer point outwards. Thank you for this belt!! You should receive the Nobel Prize in Medicine or something of that nature, the product is that good.Thank God for you!! PS: Next visit to my chiro, I will be having a chat with him about this belt...

As it is worn quite low (starting at front leg raised level), it’s quite uncomfortable to sit with as it’s at your legs’ bending line & you’ll get the feeling that the belt starts to ride up in certain seats or sitting position. When sleeping, either sleep with straight legs or with slight bending legs. So it depends on how much you comfortably bend your legs or curve your body during sleeping, the belt will somehow ride up by the morning no matter how firm you adjust it. Otherwise, this is a very good & firm belt. I find it mostly effective wearing it when standing or for normal walking.

In the video, it seems like the main strap that goes around you is elastic. I just ordered one from Amazon and mine is not. What did you do, start making a cheaper version to compete with the stuff that comes from China. It would be OK if you would reduce the price because as far as I’m concerned, it’s not worth what I paid.

How long do you recommend wearing it per day? The reason I ask, is that I wore it for 10 hours straight (when I went to do my office job) and almost had to rip it off afterwards because of the itching and rash it brought on. It meant I couldn't wear it for over a week until the rash went away!
@serolabiomechanics
@serolabiomechanics Жыл бұрын
Our belt is made of a patented hypoallergenic foam, however some people may have sensitivity to the material. Hypoallergenic means low rate of allergy or reaction, but very few things in the world are allergy proof. We recommend that you immediately discontinue using our belt directly against the skin. Once the rash disappears, try wearing the belt over your clothing and monitor it hourly for a day or two. Although it is rare that someone gets a rash, some still get a rash when the belt is over the clothes. If you do not experience getting a rash after placing the belt over your clothes, then the belt can be worn 24/7 since it does not create dependency.
