What’s the difference in repeated e brake pulls and on long pull? How do you use them differently

Its honestly became habit and isn’t as necessary on a smaller track like OSW unless you have a lot of speed, but repetitive handbrake pulls helps prevent your tires from getting flat spots. I learned this the hard way at GridLife 2023 in South Carolina, when I entered on the long straight, holding the e-brake in the same position for the majority of the entry to scrub speed, felt like I was driving on square wheels 😂😂.

Definitely get a good scan tool on there as there could be codes. Something could be pulling timing. My vq had a knock sensor code that never showed up on my regular scan tool, but another tool showed knock sensor code and it constantly pulling 5 degrees of timing. Otherwise a compression and leakdown test would be a good idea. I just am more leaning towards that being an ecu or sensor problem rather than the engine being actually tired.

Definitely some good points! After the fire I made sure to throw only OEM sensors on, (knock sensors, throttle bodies, cam sensors, coils, etc…) but wouldn’t be surprised if one of them were faulty already. I’ll check back in when I can find a good scan tool!

Not for an 07-08 350z. If the car came with an VQ35HR, you can use the same factory harness. If the car came with a VQ35DE, you would need to switch to an HR harness. Followed by a tune, yes. Due to the additional change in stroke & camshafts in my situation.

@@mrmellfpv Harness, ECU, and tune, yes. Also most likely the small bits like a HR speedometer, and HR transmission since the bellhousings are different to my knowledge.
