very cool! although it's interesting how you used 12/8 rather than 4/4 triplet ostinato which is what composers like dvorak,scriabin, and mahler do, but tchaikovsky utilized 12/8 in his symphony in E minor (2nd mvt)

Good day Mr Luca Rizzo Composer. I asked you 9 months ago that your symphony is very beautiful and I suggested that you write a classical symphony. I am a classical music fan since 2019 and I started to write music later, just on paper and without knowing any instrument but I could imagine it. Meanwhile, I write on a free program and also already looked at many classical music pieces and I'm getting better and better, although I still can not play an instrument. And I wanted to ask if they could stop by my channel, because I want to know how they like the music, but as I said, this is just a hobby and mostly not professionally written. I look forward to your response and that you might check it out. I wish you a nice day. Bye. :)

Wow! There a so many cool things in this orchestration, I wish I was not almost finished with mine so I could steal them... I especially like your harp part in B. It solves the emptiness you get when orchestrating the piano original too literally, but in a subtle, refined way.

Oh, wow, a new piece - a long and beautiful one, too! I've loved your work ever since I got here thanks to (I think it was) your Sky Tower remaster. Gut gemacht immer weiter so . :)

@@lucarizzocomposer Bitte.

@hippolytabaker95592 жыл бұрын
Nearly immaculate. *Love* the use of barred percussion here, it's almost a requirement for any orchestration of this piece. It has the shimmering, "wet" quality I was hoping to hear from contestants when I found this competition. The only difference where I would've taken this is the size of the orchestra. I probably would nix the tuba and trumpets entirely as well as one horn, put the horns in Eb instead of F, and make the trombones an alto-tenor-bass trio for more dynamic range. In this orchestration, I probably would've given the exposed trumpet solo to a soprano saxophone instead, and the oboe solo to an alto flute. But I mean, this is hardly a criticism. You wrote for the orchestra you scored this for, and you did it damn near perfectly. The only issues I think I had were with things that I know are more because of the playback machine than you; I have no doubt that if a human orchestra performed this, with all the nuances, it'd be amazing.
@lucarizzocomposer2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Persephone, for this comment. I appreciate so much your orchestration tips and I will definitely think about them when I will work again on this orchestration. My only concern is about the Eb horns. May I have problems with standard orchestras? I mean, maybe the Eb horn is not a standard instrument that hornists have by default. And I have some questions for you: why have you thought of the Eb horn in particular? Has this instrument a peculiar sound that differs from the F horn? And how will this instrument's sound affect my orchestration?
@hippolytabaker95592 жыл бұрын
I don't think you'd have any issues with a standard orchestra, and you could execute this piece with F horns perfectly fine. To make an Eb horn work, a hornist would need to have an Eb crook that they can attach to their regular horn, which they might have. Hornists who play a wide variety of musical periods may also be used to transposing Eb horn parts (which used to be more common) into F. I like playing around with different keys of horns (within reason) because it accesses different parts of the register. My rationale behind the Eb horn as opposed to the F horn was because the horns *as I would use them* in this piece would be to provide a darker, earthy color, so I'd write it for hornists using an Eb crook, or even a D crook. I love the timbre of horns in their lower register and in some cases prefer it to the contrabassoon and tuba. This is entirely personal preference, though. You need not change the keys of your horns here because you're using the horns in a different way than I would. I don't think the horns how you're using them are particularly intrusive and in the color that you're painting, work very well.
@lucarizzocomposer2 жыл бұрын
@@hippolytabaker9559 This information is gold for me, I didn't know really well until now that hornists could change their key by changing their crook, and I didn't know that this change could affect their tone, making it darker. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me.
