It would be interesting if they explored the idea of Aerith legit coming back to life. Maybe a similar direction to what they took in reviving Tidus in FFX2. For Clerith to be real, she needs to be alive, and over Zack. I don't think the creators will give us such a treat..,most likely they'll just float another romantic moment between them in the lifestream, but that's that.

0:36 the whole church sequence was pure cinema, definitely one of my favorite sequences from the whole remake trilogy so far with aerith pushing cloud through the portal and then sephiroth walking in the church right after... so heartbreaking yet so beautiful at the same time. i kind of hope that cloud and aerith reunite and get some closure in the 3rd game somehow but even if they don't, they'll always be one of my favorite tragic love stories.

It did continue with Hope, which her story continues in Legacies. In the Originals, Vincent tells Freya when she asked him to be the father of her and Keelin's child, "a child from two powerful witches with a werewolf gene? Kids gonna have one hell of a temper." In Legacies tho, Freya makes an appearance and she says to Josie that "that's my wife, she's on Nik duty tonight... Our kid." We don't exactly know but we can only assume that he does have it, so he would be a witch/werewolf in the tvdu.

Aerith says "rip em off" to Corneo...while holding her hands the same way as RIP AND TEAR. RED RUNES in the black materia chamber, and Cloud puts that materia in his GIANT SWORD. RED RUNES + GIANT SWORD = CRUCIBLE. In the final scene, the plane takes off, and we see the Reunion flowers together with DAISIES. How can so many be unbelievers, despite all the signs of OUR LORD? DOOMGUY. IS. COMING.

There's a lot of subtleties, but oh my goodness were we blessed with downright blatant romance between them. I feel like this game in particular is a love letter to her while at the same time it's her love letter to Cloud. Through time and space and every universe they keep searching for each other, after nearly three decades and numerous reimaginings let them find their promised land together!

what the hell are you on about fated lovers... they can be a romance option, but theres nothing special. in reality narrative is about her and Zack and her seeing Zack in Cloud then anything else.

What I'm referring to is in every reiteratation of Cloud and Aerith, whether it's in the FF7 universe, Tactics, other Final Fantasy installments and even Kingdom Hearts, they find each other. Now it's all well and good that you like Aerith and Zack as a couple, but being obnoxious about it on a comment for a Clerith video seems like you're going out of your way to look for trouble. You don't like Cloud with Aerith, just click on not interested so it doesn't show up in your feed and we can each enjoy the content that we like.

Being a Clerith hurts. They will hold hands and exchange a few words, but they will never kiss because she's not real. It is a love letter to Clerith, I agree but that promised land needs to be a real place storywise, not some ethereal plane for the credit roll for it to work.

@@ChoompaLoompa1985-uw8lw the more I think about it... Aerith x Cloud are like Jack and Rose from titanic. Saying Clerith weren't a romance is idiotic. It had a beautiful beggining and a tragic end. The funny thing is that they are very similar. Not only background but also character wise. We didn't have much of that in og but rebirth hammered it. There is also is a tragedy there - Cloud will understand all when it will be too late. So it is sadder than titanic even.

@@wmen48 If SE makes it explicit it won't be as sad. For example if they have them kiss before letting us know that it's over. Clotis are right about one thing. With Tifa and Cloud you get relief moments, when you know things are certain and not a figment of someone's tragic, unfulfilled attachment. Like if one of the characters died, you know they were one whole, so now you can let go safely knowing that one lung is still working. If Cloud understands too late that Aerith was the one, we also need a solid idea of what Cloud could've done that he missed (or sinned through with wilful ignorance) that he could technically fix in retrospect. From what the game has given us, Cloud's "choice" to block Sephiroth's sword is an illusion, just like the gift for Aerith is not really a choice. There has to be something real that Cloud could change, and he has to have real motivation to do it. Sephiroth is taunting Clouds ignorance calling him a puppet for doing things on a whim, without truly understanding the meaning behind them. The difference between him and Aerith is that he's retraumatizing Cloud to try and break his will, while Aerith is trying to reach his true self so he is no longer ignorant. Once Cloud understands things deeper, he will also accept Aerith's death as a natural part of things, but I think there needs to be a romantic catharsis too...a moment when Cloud will have to come clean that he did fall in love with her without any shadow of a doubt. Otherwise it's pointless to call it anything but torture for Cleriths so that SE keep making money.
