Very glad mine ISN'T cordless. Don't have to take it out and charge it after every use(FOR 4 HOURS!). Don't have to deal with... What happens when the batteries die... How much does it cost to replace them... Will they still make the batteries 10 years from now? No. Nope, not going there.

Apologies for any confusion. You can use the Pool Style branded (Hach) strips we sell in our shop in the Pooli app, as well as the following strips available on Amazon: Aquachek 7: amzn.to/3qjpz34 Clorox 6-Way: amzn.to/3CXXzW4 These are the only strips compatible with test strip scanner as we've found the Hach test strips to be the most reliable and consistent. You can find more information on test strip compatibility and instructions on how to use them within the app's testing and scanning features by tapping the ? in upper part of the screen Please let us know if you need any further assistance. I already own a Polaris 9550 sport and it only lasted me 3 pool seasons which is pretty disappointing because I spent $1300 back then and now I can’t justify to spend $2000 on the Polaris alpha iq because I don’t feel confident that it will last me no more than 3 seasons. My main cartridge pool filter takes more abuse than that pool vacuum clean and lasts longer than that vacuum robot.

I bought one from Sam's Club and have been using it everyday. it worked great until it didn't. I don't know what happened it charged up fine went in the water and then sat there and did not move with the blue lights on. I returned it to Sam's Club and exchanged for another one. the problem is also that the customer service number given in the booklet is not working. I called Sam's Club they could not help. There is also no Sam's Club warranty offered with this product, which is very suspicious. The lady at the return counter told me everybody brings theirs back because it stopped working. so basically you can use it and must return it within the 90 days back to Sam's Club since there is no additional warranty offered.

I solved my problem with the Pool cleaner staying in the deep end!! I got a thin nylon rope with a clasp and wrapped it around the handle of the Pool cleaner. I had measured the distance I needed on each end of the pool, that the Pool cleaner would clean on both ends. Once I put the rope around the Pool cleaner handle, I tied the other end of the nylon rope around the pool railing. This way the Pool cleaner has no choice but to clean the pool, only as much as the distance of the rope allows. It works perfect!! Once one end is clean I move it to the other end, and tie the other end to the diving board. So the shallow end and the deep end get clean. This cleaner works great, even though it’s alittle bit of trouble. It beats spending $1300.00 on another one.

Check the back of your pool cleaner and make sure the pull out square slot- or whatever it’s called--near that wheel- is lined up. This happened to me and I pulled the yellow square out and reinserted it. It worked perfect after that.

Would this be better than the DOLPHIN Cayman Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner for an in-ground pool?
@jeffwhiting56032 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. Polaris says it maps the pool. Once your pool is mapped does it go back and forth? Or does it still do a "random" pattern when cleaning? Also, I have a tanning deck (about 18" of water), will it be able to map that and clean that? I bought a Polaris 9650iQ and it is completely random when cleaning the pool, misses a lot of spots and never cleans my tanning deck (if I start it up there it will fall off and never gets back up).

I saw this unit in Leslie pool store today and thought I'd look more into it. I assume it runs on 120v, if so then it means I can cut the pool electricity portion of my bill by 1/2 by not running my pool pump (220v) with a standard pool cleaner; or even cut the even more by cutting the pump time down even further (to just circulate stagnant water). But then again I'm not sure how much juice this cleaner uses either. Now the features are intriguing but I doubt I need the ability to operate it by phone unless it's to establish and set permanent times (ie a set time nightly during off-peak hours to save on the electric bill). So the question (for me) becomes: does the savings in my electric bill and convenience of cell phone remote capability justify the $1,500 price tag vs my $99 creepy crawler cleaner that doesn't have any moving parts to wear out. Then again- I guess those who can shell out that kind of cash for the cleaner probably isn't concerned too much about their electric bill.
@pooliapp2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question, Pooli has a calculator to help you with this. Open Pooli, go to left menu -> Pool Tools -> Cost To Operate. Given that you use this cleaner 3-4x a week for 2 hours with electric motor vs every day with water pressure motor, you will expect over 90%+ energy savings with robo cleaner! It's a great thing to consider

Thanks for the video. I do have a question for you, does your robot always make it up all the walls or do you find it not always climbing the walls? Also i have noticed where the cord plugs into the caddy a slight dark discoloration almost like a brownish tint do you see that on yours? Thanks for your help.
@pooliapp3 жыл бұрын
Good questions Joe. The unit will not make it up walls if there is too much silt build-up in the filter. If there's too much debris (especially the tiny stuff that clogs the filter), then it slows dramatically. Cleaning once every week by running hose through filter keeps this problem at bay. I have noticed the discoloration on the cord plug. I have repaired one before because it was loose and started to come out, and it is just a matter of removing and re-tightening the wire connection. I keep my caddy under the included cover at all times. To get the caddy cover, and get your warranty, make sure to register with Polaris after purchase.

What is the benefit of this over the Polaris 9450? A assuming I'm not interested in an app for my phone.
@pooliapp3 жыл бұрын
You can see and compare official specs here: www.polarispool.com/en/products/robotic/polaris-9450 Looks like the key difference is the app control, which makes scheduling and monitoring a breeze. Also the anti-tangle swivel on the iQ+ is pretty necessary as the cable can get pretty unwieldy over time. Your call if it's worth the extra $400 or so...

I haven’t heard from their sales rep or read anything anywhere to warn against leaving it in for extended periods. This is new tech, so it’s not clear to me yet what years underwater will do to it. The important thing, I think, is to regularly thoroughly clean the filter cartridge. Also make sure leaves and twigs don’t get lodged into places they shouldn’t be :)

@@orangedan5424 I would suspect it depends on the pool, if pool 'A' uses heavy doses of chlorine and other harsh chemicals it would reign havoc on 'any' pool cleaner left under water for days on end. So if we agree ever pool is different, the safe bet is to tell customers 'not' to leave their cleaners in the pool. THIS manufacturer really has no choice but to say leave it in due to it's auto-features. Now whether or not the materials used in their product can withstand harsh chemicals day-in, day-out, months at a time... - only time will tell.
