That is a very boomy kit! Probably not helped by the massive window right next to you!? I think you should try damping every drum & put up some treatment materials on the walls + window! Agree with what you're saying about everything else 💯

Yes sir, you are exactly rite. That's why I don't play drums on videos. I get a lot of criticism for talking and not playing, but that's why I don't play. I don't have the proper microphone and mixing equipment to make professional audio in videos. It's just the mic on the phone picking up any sound.

Zildjian in the 80's and 90's were pushing so many big thick clangers in regular music shops that were being bought mostly by beginners and tone deaf gorillas. Just horrible. Drum sales in most small stores were/are just an afterthought. Great sounding cymbals either have YOUR right sound or don't. You really can't change it without being in a makers redo tool studio or purchasing by listening to high bit recordings in demos. A Z marketing was all about being heard and not breaking. It was difficult to walk in most stores and find something thinner and more refined. A bass player friend admitted to me that he and the sound guy in their band kidnapped from their drummer a real stinker A Z crash that would make everyone visibly wince when crashed. They frisbee tossed it over an alley fence one night. He did mankind a great favor. 🍺

Totally get what you’re saying about not hearing that cymbal rattle against the post during practice or a live setting but at home when I’m listening carefully and enjoying the cymbals characteristics it drives me nuts and it’s not a character of it that I want to hear, especially when there’s such an easy solution to rid that issue. Also, vintage cymbals were notorious for key-holing and cracks because of it. Move forward to modern times when equipment is louder and music is faster and heavier there’s a need for protecting our expensive precious alloys from destruction lol. But yes, these are beautiful cymbals and the medium thin 20” is one of my favorites!

You’d think this would be common sense, but it’s really not. Seems to me that most cymbal stands these days come with two large felts and they try to make the plastic part the adjustable part. But then you can’t tighten the nut down all the way. Thanks so much for the aha moment.

Hello. Great video showing the throne and back rest. I played for years on a really shit stool and only recently acquired a decent kit and it came with one of these stools. It comforts my arse like nothing I’ve ever felt before, more comfortable than luxury car seats. It’s truly what I’ve been missing for years! However… my back is fucked, lower back specifically. Playing for an hour and I’m in so much pain I can’t stand. Would you recommend the back rest? I’ve found them for £100 on eBay, just curious if you regret your purchase or has it saved your back? Cheers!!
@Prizmatic1658Ай бұрын
Hi there! This throne is awesome, I actually own 2, the hydrologic throne and the lunar series among 2 others. I ended up selling the spindle roc n soc with the back rest.. Me personally, I don't like back rests. But you may like it! If I were you, I would pick up another roc n soc and affix a backrest on it and try it. See if it helps you out. One for the house, one for gigs..

Yes there is! the standard cymbal boom from Gibraltar is a great option. You will need a rack clamp, but i would go with the SC-4425B it is the standard cymbal boom tilter and it sells for 40$ or if you need a shorter style the SC-4425MB is the mini boom, it sells for 35$
