You really should have sealed the tiles PRIOR installation because its marble. You also should have sanded off your paint gently. Lastly the way your husband placed the tile on the walls was incorrect, he should have used a trowel... He was essentially doing masonry work the way he was doing it. Doing it with a trowel allows for a cohesive bond between tiles. I have the same tile and it stains VARY easily so be careful! looks beautiful though. We did a porcelain tile picture frame over our stove because we were afraid of the stains. We sealed the tile 4 times prior installation and tested just a slight amount of marinara sauce and it left bad stains... Im also very curious if your uncle was cutting with a jigsaw??? is there bits that cut stone?
