One of your band mates said when you label your music, it is an insult to the band and to the public perception. Let the public label it. Don’t give out any preconceived ideas. Amen😅

Its crazy that they were an English band and manufactured in a way. I'm second generation Ireland my dad still in Ireland and I've heard the Pogues my whole life but only greatest hits and couldn't believe when looked into there catolugue that they only done 3 great albums RRFM,RSANDTL,IISFFGOGOD and HD could of been good if shane could sing and couldn't believe Shane was only on form for 4 years and detoriated so quick! Along with Kurt Cobain Shane was biggest loss to music and i mean musically he was dead by 1990

At like 2:26 onward bouncing at the bottom of the right side of the video is what looks like a mom getting crushed against the rail by her 3 pogoing kids she bought to the show. lol she still looks like she rockin out though!

Used to enjoy a few night at the Irish Centre in Camden Town very close to Tom Byrne’s house. Long time ago.

I just wish so much that he could have maintained this focus and energy, and not suffered so much. I love him and his music.❤️

Amazing stuff! It's actually John Hasler on drums. He was fired not long after this show and Andrew joined in early 1983.

Man they used to play their stuff sooooooo slow. This is absolutely rare as hens teeth. Thanks for uploading. I take it the pic was taken the same gig or around it?
@Torfirionpogues7 ай бұрын
Yeah the speed is really "weird" ahaha. No, the pic was with the sound files but it is from 1984 : twitter.com/rockyoriordan/status/1093914577966981120 A real chance that someone recorded this and it was retrieved!
@prangbro6 ай бұрын
This was probably about as fast as they were capable of playing at the time. AFAIK James had never played the accordion before, same with Spider and the whistle. amazing how quickly they evolved into formidable musicians!
@prangbro6 ай бұрын
haha, just looking at the info and spider still couldn't play whistle in '82 - I love how clearly you can hear the beer tray punctuating the drums!
Yep, it's a chance that a guy recorded the whole gig that night! I will also upload the "Almost live" bootleg which is of really good quality and quite early as well(the tracklist is on the Pogueslive greatsite)
