A truly sad outcome. I hope the many souls lost may rest in peace. and I hope something was learned to keep this from happening in the future.

I feel scared for my brother who's about to work in ships in the the future.. i sometimes tell him please don't work there.. or get 2years and then teach at schools 🥺 masakit na ma-imagine mo kapatid mo na mahal mo, magkaganyan. Pero wala ako magagawa kung hindi magtiwala sa Dios sa kaniyang awa, at kalooban. I thanked God for their safety kasi yung barko nila, bumiyahe pa-Iloilo nung may parating na bagyo nung October.. diba bumagyo last year, tinamaan yung Batangas. Kaya panalangin ko, mapunta sya sa barko, sa kapitan, na magagaling at matatalino pagdating sa mga ganitong kalamidad.

Thanks to all who helped so family and friends could get closure and lay them to rest properly. I take my hat off to you all. A video that's made with respect without going for shock value. The bit rhat hit me Most was not the bodies, but at around the 5 mins a family photo album and something that looked like it belonged to a child. REST IN PEACE.❤

I saw at least 2. One of them was blurred and the other was just legs without shoes, sticking out from under something. It was filmed with respect knowing family of the victims could end up seeing this.

The MV St. Thomas Aquinas was a passenger ferry that sank on August 16, 2013, after colliding with a cargo ship, the MV Sulpicio Express 7, near the port of Cebu in the Philippines. The accident occurred in the evening, as the ferry was on its way to Cebu from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. Here’s a summary of the incident: What Happened: 1. Collision: The MV St. Thomas Aquinas collided with the cargo ship while attempting to enter Cebu harbor. The collision tore a large hole in the ferry’s hull. 2. Sinking: The ferry began sinking rapidly after the collision, and within 10 minutes, it was submerged. 3. Passengers and Crew: The ferry was carrying 715 passengers and 116 crew members, according to the manifest, though it’s believed some additional passengers might not have been listed. Casualties: At least 114 people died in the disaster. Over 21 were reported missing. About 750 people were rescued by nearby ships, fishermen, and the Philippine Coast Guard. Cause of the Collision: Investigations found that the collision was likely due to human error, including miscommunication and poor navigation by both vessels. The MV St. Thomas Aquinas was reportedly on the wrong shipping lane as it approached the port. Environmental Impact: The sinking caused a fuel spill from the ferry’s tanks, leading to significant marine pollution in the area. Cleanup operations took weeks to manage. The disaster is one of the deadliest maritime accidents in Philippine history, highlighting ongoing concerns about the safety standards of ferry operations in the country.

Hero is a word that is used as a daily affirmation these days sadly, Such absolute nonsense, when in fact you have the privilege to witness and in such awe at the heroism of these beautiful, remarkable hero’s bringing the worst of the worst of their families nightmares come true to the surface with such elegance, grace and the upmost respect for the deceased, then that is the definition of a hero. Utterly heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. RIP and maybe these unsung hero’s should be prioritising the mainstream media, not the ridiculousness and untalented masses that accumulates clicks and nonsense. You are inspiring and brave to the Nth degree.

I think it takes a special person to be able to see things for what they are. To face one's own mortality, yet to appreciate that you are simply returning a brother or sister to their kind on the surface, despite the condition of their earthly remains. It takes real guys to acknowledge that these disintegrating remains were walking and living at the same time as most of us, and that we are destined the same fate...we all dissappear. I am sure I could tame my horror in consideration of my full understanding of the passage from living person to dead, and the processes that are bound to take place. I am human. I understand not the after. I am scared but I am curious. For, above all, I am a human. Humans have a need to understand everything. Everything will someday be human.

Human error and egregiously lazy regulation enforcement. Those were brave diners to do what they did…human compassion at its best. And there is no such thing as closure. It’s just grief that softens over time.
