I'm breathless. This is half of the original 2CD release. Wonderful. Pinhas is blistering and Antoine Paganotti (drums) is insane (goodly insane). Only the bass line (Batard) provides a link to sanity.

At first I thought Elvin had been influenced by Keith Moon on the Smothers Brothers into kicking over his drum kit.

Certainly had my foot tapping , Will be whistling this on my way to work What was it Ellington said , it don't mean a thing if it don't swing. The only thing swinging should be these clowns from a Yard Arm. A viewpoint from a Jazz Lover.

What’s the location? The recording is very clean. “Autumn Leaves” and Cole Porter’s “… Say Goodbye.” It’s nice to hear a couple of standards in the repertoire.

Loved the instrumental, fabulous bass of course and brilliant organ all marred by terrible and unmusical noises from Robert. That’s why Robert was asked to leave Soft Machine as Hugh Hopper and Mike Ratledge could not stand any more of Robert’s ‘vocalise ‘

Like the first light of twilight, this music opens your eyes to old promises and to all the anomalies of nature. Evocative of powers beyond observation, these pieces pull the strings of the heart, attract nostalgia and awaken regrets, flayed lives and the torpor of tormented watchers 🌺

A great find and excellent sound quality. Elvin always provided the fuel for Trane to burn brightly. I've never heard a recording of this classic quartet in which it was possible to hear Jimmy Garrison; he was an underrated bassist and was also overshadowed by Elvin.

That really is a superb bass passage on Impressions. If you are a fan of the jazz bass (and if you are not already familiar) check out Ole Coltrane, which has Art Davis and Reggie Workman both playing on the title track, at one point one bowing the bass and the other plucking. It's a stunning recording.
