It's so refreshing to hear them all have such a clear view of groupies. They were so young, yet they still saw through the artifice and the agenda of the women. I hope that served them well later.

Bob used to live half mile down the road from me on Rattalee lake road, Clarkston Mi,, we would even see him on his riding lawn mower cutting his own grass, back then we all respected his privacy, he moved away from rattalee in 1979-80 , i did see Bob just north of clarkston driving his red Porsche convertible in the late 80's, Bob was always a proud Michigan man. we miss you Bob.

ok ill say it since no one else will.......... if the singer CANT hit the notes then the singer is no longer the singer... but an emty, worthless shell of his former self....... sorry Bob but damn.... you arent even coming close to where you should be on HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS.... its kinda sad really....... andd i know what its like......... im currently 57 and and cant do what i used to be able to do in my 30s.... I AM A WORTHLESS SHELL OF WHAT I USED TO BE.......... and my wife has left me because of it..... i guess she had higher expectations of me that i didnt live up to........ but i personally think 20+ yrs with someone deserves a lil leeway..... but apparently im wrong cuz she is kicking me out..... telling me on THANKSGIVING EVE.... thanks for nothing you CUNT!!!!!!!!!! but regardless of my troubles Bob still clearly cannot hit his high notes...... so sad really..... now where did i put my revolver.... i got a russian roulette game to get back too............

For almost all my life, I thought Terry Kath was the lead singer for this song. Glad I was wrong and now have a new 1970s singer crush. What a voice. And yes, TK also had a powerful voice. But RL’s is a velvety smooth singing style
@60s70sChicagoRockАй бұрын
@nmtg Yes, Robert wrote it and sang it... that's the song that turned me on to him! Terry, I think was most noted for 'Make Me Smile'... his voice so deep and soulful. Gone too soon. 💔

This song is a perfection, perfectabled, sublime, magnificent, inimitabled, sublime, magnificent, inimitabled, incomparabled, unparalleled, indescribabled, originality, this song, and the band is phenomenal, stupendous, a extraordinary, a perfection, a magnanimous, a magnanimity, dazzling, brilliant, (MASTER-PIECE) (THE BUCKINGHAMS) He made this song for me, the vocalist, and the composer got it right. each lyric, and each verse of this song is full of talking, commenting on my life, in other words, this song was written, and made for me, it describes all my deep feelings of love, and romance!!. Because of my romanticism towards girls, towards women, I am very romantic, loving, and affectionate, I have a lot, a lot of subtlety with them!!.(THANKS, THANKYOU VERY MUCH, MY LOVED, AND DEAR (THE BUCKINGHAMS BAND) For these MASTER-PIECE, AND ARTISTICALLY-WORK!!!).

The city of Chicago may have "rocked the 60's" with garage bands, but they shit the bed in the 70's with all that awful horn rock. Confirmed reservation in hell for that group of musicians.
@60s70sChicagoRock3 ай бұрын
@kennethnorman8079 - Cute. Most of the garage bands featured in this documentary, with the exception of maybe the Shadows of Knight, incorporated horns into their hits dating back to the late 60's. So I'm guessing that you didn't really watch the program, or you just didn't like any of these bands. Especially CTA/Chicago.

@@60s70sChicagoRock Not true. The first 2 NC6 records are epic. First Buckinghams and a large amount of their Columbia output is better than average in a decade where the average was pretty fucking great. No, if I’m honest, my problem with the Chicago “horn rock” sound of the late 60’s/early 70’s would have to land at the feet of James William Guercio. His cocaine fueled bombast used horns with the subtlety of 20 horn players trying to wedge themselves into stripper night at the VFW. Chicago had some great players and sections used at labels like Chi-Town and One-Derful! Just not the music that the average am radio fan and junior high school trumpet player thought was “cool…maaaaaan!”
@60s70sChicagoRock3 ай бұрын
@@kennethnorman8079 I get where you're coming from. I also liked the early more raw sounds from the NC6, Shadows of Knight, and even The Flock (they had two local single hits, one was Take Me Back) before they evolved to more horn jazz. Remember JWG produced the Buckinghams before Chicago, and also Blood, Sweat & Tears. I was a fan of the Al Kooper BS&T lineup before the David Clayton Thomas band w/JWG. I can understand you're not being a fan of the 'over the top' horns, I didn't mind it that much. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste.
