Had exact same problem… when driving at night I would notice my instrument panel would flicker or go dark which let me know that the next time I tried to start my truck, it would not happen. So last night I got in my vehicle and plugged in my vape pen to charge, and my instrument panel dimmed …. My 12v port had a cheap $.99 USB plugged in to it and that was the culprit . I’d be very interested for somebody to tell me why that USB plug-in was the reason my vehicle would not start. Moral of the story. If your vehicle won’t start do you have anything plugged into your 12 V adapter by the radio?

You can see the Semi Truck slow down, then accelerate aggressively and fail to remain in his lane.
@alltruckfleet
@alltruckfleet Ай бұрын
It appears that the semi driver didn't want to slow down and have to shift gears hence, he accelerated and that resulted in his not being able to remain in his own lane as he should have done as is stated in the Texas Driver's Handbook (more drivers should actually read this booklet). The driver turning right had the right of way by law as long as he remained in his own lane. I agree with some of the comments that, the pickup driver should anticipate irresponsible driving habits of others and never assume they will follow the rules of driving in this era of "me-first". A good reminder to always be safe, stay alert and never assume others have read the State's Driver's Handbook or that they will follow the rules.

I would like to point out that you do NOT have a green light, as that is for the lanes that are going straight. Your lane is controlled by the Yield sign only, same as the semi opposite you. And as the semi passed his Yield sign first, you should have yielded right-of-way to him.

I was not the driver. The driver is a customer of ours who is also a truck driver and has been at it for 15 years with a clean record. He is a very careful driver and respects the law. He always says that SAFETY is a priority - don't take chances. I asked if I could feature this on my channel. He said the semi accelerated hard and didn't expect the semi to cross all 3 lanes. Obviously, because he was going so fast around the u-turn and accelerated, he was unable to stay in his own lane like he was supposed to, as is stated in the Texas Driver's Handbook. The driver turning right had the right of way by law as long as he remained in his own lane. Thanks for the feedback!!!

You ask: "Who has right-of-way?" I answer: It's the one with the greatest mass...and in this video, that is not you. Have you ever been hit by a semi? I have. They win EVERY TIME. You don't want to be hit by a semi. They can LITERALLY crush your car like a tin can. Legally, the person driving the semi was supposed to maintain their lane. So if you got hit, assuming you survive, you would have the law on your side. I would have braked, got behind them, called out the plate. Then I would have went around to get the information on the side of the cab, and reported them to their employer...maybe even the police.

I was not the driver. The video is from a customer who said I could use it. I agree that when you are out-massed, the right of way will not nullify the laws of physics, which is why the driver of the pickup stopped. The driver of the pickup says he always checks his ego before starting his engine. He just wasn't expecting the semi to cross all 3 lanes. The pickup driver is a customer of ours who is also a semi truck driver and has been at it for over 15 years with a clean record. He is a very careful driver and respects the law. Thanks for the feedback!!

Yes, please credit the source. Spring TX. Truck driver was making a u-turn with a yield sign, the passenger vehicle was turning right, also with a yield sign but stayed in his lane. The Semi crossed all 3 lanes. I guess he was going too fast to stay in his own lane.

@alltruckfleet

Sure! The Semi was doing a U-Turn with a Yield sign onto a one way. The green light at the intersection was facing away from the semi. The right turn vehicle also had a yield sign onto the same one way. The Semi crossed all three lanes and nearly collided with the passenger vehicle who was in his own lane. The Semi Driver then motions to the Passenger vehicle to slow down although he was the one driving aggressively. Location: Spring Texas.

Disconnected the plug, blew out the debris, checked the prongs, removed minor corrosion, slightly bent the prongs to tighten up the contact points, re-connected and put a zip tie to hold it. It seemed to help because I haven't had any more issues since doing that.

What is the connector to or was for? We have a similar problem with our ranger and was used as a city/town vehicle and has that same blue connector
@alltruckfleet
@alltruckfleet 9 ай бұрын
The OBDII plug had a connector to wires that run up behind the dashboard. I didn't follow it beyond the connector because it solved my issue when I made sure the connection was tight. I'll see if I can tell where it goes. Have you checked the key program ? It has a limit of 10 keys that can be programmed and once they are maxed out, you need a key/locksmith to reprogram it. Maybe the blue connector was for flashers? Mine had front and rear strobes.

This one needed to reprogram the key. I called a mobile locksmith and he reset the key and computer. I don't remember exactly what he did but I think it had maxed out the number of duplicate keys. Usually a dealer has to do it but some locksmiths have the means to reprogram it.
