I'm an American and have moved to Thailand. The Thais have a different take on dogs. It's not uncommon to see dogs laying in the streets because Thais don't take responsibility for the dogs. My girlfriend and I walk in the early mornings every day for fitness. I count between 20 and 30 dogs laying on the beach and road within about a mile of that walk. No matter where I drive in Thailand it is common to see dogs laying in the street.

My rottie was just a big clumsy comedian, that sleep at the door of my daughters room from the time she was born. Only problem he would get to playing with her and knock her down. Like I said clumsy. She would just laugh. He was way over a 100lbs and ripped from running in the pasture and swimming in the pond. He loved swimming in the pond, do not know if that's normal for a rottie but he did love it. Highly recommend this dog breed to anyone that will spend time with it. They really do not like being left alone for long.

The breed is highly intelligent and active, and can be challenging for some people, but 'Dash and i understand each other. I feed him and he's my heating pad and exercise coach. When he joined me I already had his great-great grandmother (had both together for three years), and I'd had her great-aunt before. I will never willingly give him up, and I have made plans for his care returning him to the kennel where he was born if the time should come that I can't care for him, and if the breeder isn't able to care for him she has a caregiver chosen. If all else fails, I have a cousin who is familiar with the breed and is willing to care for him.
