Most of them require you to simply hunt the main monsters for individual materials to unlock the actual armor sets. Once the main set is unlocked can you then make the layered pieces. There are a few pieces that are hidden behind specific quests but mostly just hunt the main monsters down!

Yeah that's not a final winning hand, but I suppose it's a good example of a hand that's 2 tiles away from winning... ie. needs to finish the 2 char or 2 dot pong, as well as the 5 or 8 bamboo chow

Yes, it is possible to win with all kongs in the same hand (maximum 4 Kong meld sets plus a pair of "eyes"), though that will be very rare as it'll depend on how lucky you are to be able to achieve this hand. You will still require a pair of "eyes" to win, as when the player makes a Kong meld, they are required to draw another tile from the other end of the wall (the same end where you patch your flower tiles instead of the part where you do the regular draw). I hope that answers your question!

Longer answer: On the other hand, it's a whole different beast to explain in the comment section, and scoring is slightly different as it depends on a few other factors, such as how many melds you have and what kind of hand you're building (e.g. do you have numerical runs etc), but I will try my best to answer them in a follow up video. 🀄

Thank you for your question. I will be using our point of view as point of reference. If we look to our right of the screen where the yellow box is, we see there are 3 dice and an S. This gives us 2 pieces of information: 1. The first piece of information that you're asking is who the dealer for that particular game is. The player who throws the dice is always the dealer, and the position of the dealer is always the East wind seat position. This then indicates the wind direction of all the other players in the process, and we always move in the anti-clockwise direction. This means that the player sitting across from us is in the South wind seat position, the player to our left the West position, and our seat in the North position. 2. The second piece of information we see is the S, this means we're playing the South wind round. For this, the wind position changes after every player has had the chance to be the dealer at least once (the nuance of it will be explained in a different video as it can get a little complicated if we do not see the visuals). Anyway, let me know if this helped!

Also, aim to focus on learning to build your hand first during game play so you can practice winning! 😉
