Practicly is a copy of ADVENTURE ISLAND SERIES...of NES AND SNES CONSOLES.....DONT YOU THINK???
@OMPeaRetro2 ай бұрын
Westone licensed the gameplay to Hudson who created the Adventure Island series. Westone took the following Wonder Boy games in a different direction, whereas Hudson kept the original concept going. There are other copies as well.

I have an original copy of this game, but the boot floppy disk (System Disk) is damaged, so now I can't boot the game's CD-ROM. This is one of those games that need a boot disk to execute the CD; the CD is not autoboot. Where can I find a dump of that floppy? It seems nobody dumped it (only CD). u__u To the uploader of this video: Please, make a dump of your System Disk before it gets unreadable.
@OMPeaRetro9 ай бұрын
It's true. There are roughly 1400 pieces of software for FM Towns. While most of the CDs have been preserved, many boot disks and floppy only games are still missing. Hopefully some will come out publicly soon.

@OMPeaRetro Жыл бұрын
Just a different option. Installing on the hard drive gives you a built in backup should your memory card fail or get lost. If you have both installed, the memory card is read first.

How do you add cover art and themes?
@OMPeaRetro Жыл бұрын
Themes should come in a folder named thm_themename. That folder needs to be copied into the THM folder in the +OPL folder. Themes sometimes have recommended settings, so be sure to read any readme files. The ART folder is in that same +OPL location. There are bundles that you can download, but it's easiest to use HDL Batch Installer to automatically download the needed art for you. Good luck.

how do you delete a game?
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
Start OPL, from the games list, hit the start button the go to the main menu, go into settings and make sure "Write Operations" is on, hit OK, then save changes. That enables the ability to delete a game. Now go to the game that you want to delete, hit triangle, go down to delete. Hope that helps.

This is 1 of the 1st games I played for the Sega Master system. As a kid it took me a long time to beat this. As an Adult I can beat this really easily. I never tried to beat this as fast as I can. I will try it though in a couple of days.
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
I never got a chance to play it as a kid unfortunately. I would like to get back with this some more soon. It's not a clean run at all, and I only used the skateboard in one part I believe. It's a great series though. Thanks for stopping in!
@tonyp93132 жыл бұрын
You make this game much harder than need be. You missed a lot of hidden coins and Nuggets. For the Armors never buy the 150 one. Start buy buying 60, then 100 , then 540. For Shields start with the 120 one then buy the 350. For the boots you did exactly what you were supposed to do. You're 1 person on a walkthrough who figured out that buying Ceramic boots is a lot better than buying Legendary boots. I only figured this out last year. Legendary boots you will fall every time on that last level jumping brick to brick because it glitches. Ceramic boots won't do that and you'll pass that part easily. I give you credit for beating the game.
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
Well yeah, it was my first playthrough and I went in blind. Thanks for the tips Tony. I'm sure I'll circle back to this series at some point. The hardest game in the series was definitely Wonder Boy III Monster Lair for PC Engine CD. I had to use infinite continues to get through that one. Shooters aren't my strong suit, but damn that one is brutal.
@tonyp93132 жыл бұрын
@@OMPeaRetro So you are saying that was your 1st time playing???? How did you know where the hidden bosses were like Madusa, The Legendary sword boss, & every location to talk to get the Bell or Ruby....Not only that but you knew a lot of things that nobody would know if they went into it blind
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyp9313 I believe it took me 3 streams to beat it. This was when I finally did. I did read through the manual, which is something I always do on stream. They are pretty vague on things, but the do drop some hints in there. I spent a lot of time on the last castle just mapping it out since I didn't have the bell the first few times in there.
@tonyp93132 жыл бұрын
@@OMPeaRetro Oh ok that makes a lot more sense. Yeah the manual in this game actually helps a lot. It tells you who every boss is for one so if you missed a boss in a play through you would know. It tells you every thing in shops & prices that way you can know how much money you need cuz it gives you an idea. I still give you tons of credit cuz you decided just to use the ceramic boots which no one will ever do in like 3 streams. I played this game as a kid when it 1st came out. As a kid I wasn't reading the manuals or anything like that. So it took me a while to beat this. Plus for a while I didn't know about hidden doors so I would die at that level where Medusa is because I never found her to beat her and would run out of time or just gave up at that point. My brother actually discovered to press up on the platform when it said "Someone Be beyond the Wall" So when he 1st figured that out, then I was like oh ok I better press up on the platforms. Which I did later then found Medusa & then beat the game. When I beat this game though I still didn't find the boss with the Legendary sword because I would fall all the way down skipping enemies. It's really hard beating this game with a weaker sword. I was like no way this game is this hard. I knew I had missed the boss. So months or years later I found him, had everything legendary & beat this game. It was only last year I decided to go with Ceramic boots rather than Legendary boots because the game glitches a lot on that last level for the Brick to Brick jump going up & you'll basically die a lot in the last level if it does that and it does it like 90% of the time so if you beat it it's like a luck thing that it didn't glitch.
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
@@tonyp9313 I died a ton on that jumping thing at the end. Just slowly running out of time and dieing over and over. I never knew it was because of a boot bug. I did finally figure out how to do it reliably, I forget now, but the order you hit the buttons has to be very precise and methodical. I recently watched someone play another game that had a similar jump puzzle and died inside a little.

Only the 10th World is hard in this if you don't have a hatchet. This Version you need all 36 dolls to go to round 10. If you don't you'll beat this game on level 9-4. You'll get the same exact ending too. The arcade version is a shorter game but it's really hard.
@OMPeaRetro2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Phil. It's definitely a game that gets a lot easier after you beat it the first time.
