Es war so sechs Wochen vor der Reise, da haben uns Freunde, die auch mitgefahren sind, eine Nachricht geschickt, dass eine HuM frei geworden ist. Dann haben wir überlegt, gerechnet, den Notgroschen aus der Matratze geholt und umgebucht 🙈😂

Die Tatsache, dass es in der X-Lounge keine Toiletten gibt, ist wirklich alles andere als optimal! Die Toiletten (2 Stück) sind auf Deck 16, Steuerbord, wenn man vom Sonnendeck Richtung Kühlschränke geht.

You’re wrong, they dont. As a sea rescue crewman, who is well accustomed to collision regulations: A vessel of limited mobility (carriers or cruise ships etc) are always stand on (right of way) vessels.

He shouldn't have been in that position in the first place

There is no right and wrong scenario in almost dying, a vessel can’t take a action in such a close proximity to avoid collision, furthermore both sides are at fault, one side for not giving way in ample time, the other for not taking action to avoid collision in ample time

Sailboat was in the right of way here and took evasive action when the ship failed to alter course. Powered vessels have to give way to sail boats.

At sea there is no 100% right, the stand on vessel must keep a proper lookout, determine if a risk of collision exists, give warning signals and take action in ample time to avoid collision in case the stand on vessel does not take sufficient action to avoid collision, the sailing vessel crew didn’t take action in ample time since a ship that size can’t turn fast enough even if they wanted too and the sailing vessel need time to arrange its sails, the late action to avoid collision is written in the colregs to clarify that if the stand on vessel must take action to avoid collision if it finds its self so close that the give away vessel that a collision will not be avoided by its own action alone, it is by no means a good situation and the colregs clearly mention in rule 2 part a that no one is exonerated in case of negligence to follow the rules and take proper precautions to avoid collision. Ps Iam not saying that the passenger ships officer/captain was right, Iam just saying it’s better to be smart and alive, the ship would have crashed that boat into pieces and on the tombstone it would have been written: Here lies the body of William Jay, Who died maintaining his right of way- He was right, dead right, as he sped along, But he's just as dead as if he were wrong.
