Agreed. Bob Costas is a little full of himself nowadays, but he was great on these intros. Same goes for Brent Musberger, and my favorite Dick Enberg. They all did great intros. I miss them.

WILT THE STILT. GOLIATH. OH MAN HE WAS GREAT I LIVED HIS LAST 4 YEARS WIRH THE LAKERS FROM 70 TO 1974. I WAS NEW TO AMERICA IN 1970 WITH MY PARENTS AND MY BROTHER AS WE MIGRATED TO THE US TO LOS ANGELES CALIF IN OCT 1970. N.I WAS 12 YEARS OLD NEVER PLAYED OR WATCHED HOOPS BACK HOME IN EGYPT. EVERYBODY AND HIS BROTHER PLAYED KOORA SOCCER IE FOOTBALL EVERYWHERE IN THE Streets IN THE PARKS IN THE ALLIES EVERYWHERE, THAT WAS THE GAME AND STILL IS MOHAMED SALAH COUNTRY. WHEN U CAME TO AMERICA U FELL 8N LOVE WITH BASKETBALL 1ST NBA THEN COLLEGE HOOPS LUCKILY UCLA IN WESTWOOD WAS ABOUT 12 MINUTES FROM HOME AND THE BRUINS WON EVERY NCAA TITLE BACK THEN UNDER 5HE WIZARD JOHN WOODEN LEGENDAY COACH. .L.A WAS THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS LAKERS IN BASKETBALL WINING 1972 TITLE WITH 33 GAME WINING STREAK WHICH HASN,T BEEN BROKEN YET. UCLA IN HOOPS THE BRUINS WON AN ASTONISHING 88 GAMES STRAIGTT WHICH I STILL CANT COMPREHND UNTIL MY SECOND BEST TEAM THECFIGHTING IRSH OF NORTDAME BROKE THAT STREAK WITH MY FAVORITE PLAYER ADRIAN DANTLY VS WALTON JAMAL WILKES JOHN WOODEN AND I BELIEVE THEY DID IT IN PAULY PAVILION NOT IN SOUTH BEND INDIANA NOT SURE ON THAT ONE. IT WAS IN SEASON OF 1974 FOR SURE. BACK THEN WILT WAS THE BIGGEST THING IN LA IN THE EARLY TO MID 70,S UNTIL HE RETIRED IN END OF 1974 SEASON. BIG BILL WALTON CENTER OF THE BRUINS WAS THE SECOND BIGGEST CHARACTER BACK THE. THE TROJANS OF USC ALSO WERE WINNERS WITH THE JUICE O.J SIMPSON AND OTHERS AND THEY WON MANY ROSE BALL GAMES. THE DODGERS AND THE RAMS WERE ALSO HOT IN L.A THIS BRINGS BACK LOTS OF MEMORIES FOR A Young MAN AND A TEENAGER AND ADULT BACK IN THOSE GOOD OLE DAYS FOR DAM SURE BABY.

Wow, I can't believe this was 32 years ago, something so different about sports in the 80s & 90s, NBC,CBS & ABC all had there own brands, but they were all unique & special! I'd love more than anything for the Finals back on NBC! Now we're stuck with ESPN, ugh!

I have to agree with you 100%. I graduated high school in 1991 and this era takes me back to the days of my last year of high school and Undergraduate college days. I can say that both CBS and NBC had the best NBA intros. Additionally, we saw the two bitter rivals---the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls---destroy the NBA Championship dreams of several teams and superstars.
