R211's on the Rockaway Park (S)huttle might become more common with the retirement of more R46's and the introduction of more R211's.

I decided to go on the A line yesterday to ride on a r211 for the first time. The set that I got was the 20th 4260-4269. This consist has a bugged program. Whenever it pulls into a station, Kathleen wouldn’t announce; “This stop is” nor the new software activated program. Before the doors opens, Kathleen is already announcing the next stop and all of the displays go blank. I rode it on July 13th, 2024.

They need to send these piece of shit trains right back where they got them from. The air conditioning is horrible and I dare not talk about the lack of seats and the seating arrangements! Super up close and personal seating for 5 on each bench and if your over 150 pounds, it’s seating for 4. I dread when I see it coming down the track in the morning.

I hope the sets before 4270 get the new FIND display and door side software soon, with the exception of 4060-4070

We have one of these in southwest London: unit no. '5868 and just so happens to be painted in a heritage livery too. Brakes are Wabco but motors used to be English Electric but were recently converted to A/C by Kiepe (surprisingly they still sound similar to how they used to despite the substantial refit).

These R211s look very nice! If only the R32s would supplement them.

@01:00 really shows off just how big and long these metro style trains are. That's looks like it could carry 10,000 people packing in like sardines during rush hour. I am glad the trains are not equipped with hydraulic compactors or platform staff armed with cattle prods.

All of the R211 sets have the CBTC technology built in. The addition of the R211’s will allow the CBTC project on the 8th avenue line to be completed. Hopefully they can retire the R46’s very soon.

It doesn't look like anymore will be delivered with the digital overhead ads. All of the recent cars delivered have the traditional paper/poster overhead ads. I guess the first sets with the digital ads were just for a tease.

Have they been running the R211T on the C line? I don't see them running. I see a lot of R46.
